Behind the Masterpiece is an effort to discuss art without intimidation, narrating captivating stories and offering insights into why certain works have endured throughout history.
I am an art history enthusiast and it is my honor to offer deep dives into the world's most recognizable pieces, explaining artistic style, movements, the time period, and a little bit about the artists themselves.
Not quite this sophisticated but growing up I consumed a lot of female manga writers like CAMP who wrote both Shonen and Shojo. The emotional in their work helped make me a strong woman in modern day.
I love this video! It's informative and digestible! I always had a hard time remembering the timeline of these art movements in the chronological order. And yet, because of how you organized and created the video, I've definitely gained a clearer understanding of it. Thank you!
This video is so good; I shed a tear. Passionate and concise vocabulary to describe these beautiful pieces that move me across the digital space. Thank you! I have a new arsenal of women artist and paintings to call some of my favorites now
i love learning about how women have created art via the female gaze throughout history. very powerful and a reminder that we’re unfortunately still fighting similar battles today
Thank you for the very good selection. However, I need to raise a small correction. Unfortunately, the portrait of Leo the 10th by Raphael is no longer at the Uffizi. The last director of the Uffizi Gallery, Eike Schmidt, decided it was time to bring it back to its original location, that is, Palazzo Pitti. However, the two museums fall under the same ownership, and one can also buy a single ticket for both expositions!
as a kid i used to think art was more femenine art form cuz my mom is an artist and was around more women artists so when i found out its a lot more masc form i was so dissapointed
I usually objectifies women I'm painting. I'm a female my self. Idk where one would paint something without objectifying it. It becomes the art of the canvas, and not the person anymore.
Loved this video! I don't know much about art but this was very informative and all the art pieces showcased here were absolutely wonderful, especially when you delved into what made them stand out in the first place
I appreciate this video very much. I'm interested in art, and realized that is mainly men, men, men artist. This video gave me a opportunity to explore women artist. Thx a lot
I wonder if there is a parallel world and in that world Arabs did not succeed to overtake persia but was subdued. With this there would not be invasion of other countries by Arabs to make them muslim and arab. Like syria, Lebanon and egypt. Persians would continue on their journey as they were. I think the whole world would be different.
@@Lunrbatzz I am a female. That simple. “Female identifying individuals” implying you can be not a biological woman and still identify as one and be counted in. The phrasing is pretty different
Hi, I’m not able to find the tracks Flare and Bounce when I search online. Are you sure they are the names of the tracks? Would really like to know the music around 3 min 30 sec… thanks!
Another great videos with less political speech is "The Forgotten Masters" series by Jill Poyerd: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cRtJ_PZJab0.html
Even in modern art now, women drawing women always look so captivating for how they portray them but isn't as praised as men drawing women. I personally recommend maika sozo's, its amazing and her art looks painterly even for digital. shes an amazing artist

love how *some* men in the comments only clicked on this video to ignore it blatantly and turn everything sexist again... talk about missing the point entirely and dismissing women yet again
@@arcanevi4477 scrolled through them again and most must've been deleted (thankfully). There's still one on copium about how "male artists are better than females"
@@arcanevi4477 They were here before, and they're back again. The uploader can only delete so many. And yeah, avoiding men really is the best way to live.
Wow this was a great video! I love the last piece, Propped bc it reminds me that I dont have to follow the standard beauty depiction of art, I want this painting, even just the printed on my home a big one so I can remind myself everyday that I will draw whatever I want however I want without being pressured with my over thinking self
This is a truly wonderful video - very informative and a great summary. One thing missing maybe, is mention of the architectural innovation of the Persians. Unlike the Romans, they were able to solve the problem of placing a heavy dome on a light square base to provide a roomy and magnificent internal space (they achieved this via the use of contiguous internal arches deployed in an octagonal manner).
