If the Parameters storage type is Element ID, in that case we should use Revit API to do any kind of modification. You can use public ElementId ChangeTypeId( ElementId typeId ) for this .

Thank you, i'm trying with no solution to imort cad into family but the only option is the "Ref. Level" and i need the imported CAD to other views like Front or Back... Etc. Please I need your valuable reply.
If you are facing difficulty to import cad into your family for front or back views, then you may create the same view using symbolic line and then all you have to set in visibility what you want to see in which view.
It's common thing...when fittings not loaded for routing preference within the tube.. Select the tube > edit type > routing preference.... Now load proper fittings
