Inside left snare’s left hand is godly, all he’s gotta do is bring the accent heights down from 12” to 9” and keep his front two fingers on all the time and he’s golden (I had the same problem for a year or so) Keep pushing!! ✨
Funny enough, I used the metal finger to play scrapes on a guiro and then I used it to hit a cascara beat on the rim of my tom. I took a video! I'll post it later maybe ...or maybe I won't! I don't know yet haha
The only snare that plays in a way that's clear and easy to see what he's playing, is second to left. Get these kids into traditional grips, and teach them wtf an accent is.
Don't bash the other kids who are trying their best. That snare works hard and his dad is also a drummer so it's in his blood. He's also the center. Every center snare is better skillwise than the others. That's the whole point. I get 1 hour 3x sometimes 2x a week. Part of that hour is them moving all their instruments to another room, including concert band music. I split the rest of the time with concert band percussion and this cadence. They don't have after school practice because they're a private school. I just got there in October and sometimes my boss does not give us sectional time. Again, they're doing the best they can with the VERY limited time they have. I'm proud of how far they've come despite the rehearsal challenge. Most importantly, they're having fun and being a team and are off of their phones for at least some of the damn day. In other words, you're a prick for this comment and kindly stfu.
love this i think they all sounded great! found it funny how the snare closest to the camera at the end had his stick backwards LOL still sounded great though.
100% I adjusted them all at a football game but my guy didn't want to change it because for 2 years prior (I just got there this school year) he played it that way. I tried to tell him that he also got taller and has longer arms now lol but he told me he really didn't want to and since I didn't have his consent or think it was truly that big of a deal right now, I didn't change his harness. You gotta pick and choose your battles as a new teacher
Thanks so much! Yea my kids said it was really challenging but it's coming along nicely and I'm glad I didn't water it down! I wrote bass splits too but they can't play it yet
Thanks for your kind comment, Kevin! My life is actually quite hectic. I'm a professional musician on top of being a music educator, but when I play music for fun, it feels like how you described
First off, It’s one of his students. He’s a musician who also teaches. Pretty sure this video randomly popped up in your feed and you felt the need to comment something rude. I think that’s what’s actually sickening
@@SLEEPERrecords Bram, you are such a sweet and funny kid. Thank you for this comment. It made me smile 😁 rest up and protect that k/d ratio!! Good job today. I'm so so so very proud of you and how much you've grown already. I hope I can continue to see how far you go with music for years to come. See you in 2 weeks!
