Hello everyone! My name is TJ Hallett. I am currently playing through all the psalms in the Trinity Psalter Hymnal on guitar. I will also be posting the chords for each psalm. I hope they can be of use to you in singing the psalms in your corporate or private worship! I have also set the Westminster Shorter Catechism to original music, and I occasionally set various psalms to original melodies. If you would like to support my work, I'd be very grateful! Feel free to donate through Paypal, or become a patron through Patreon. Links below.
There's something so soothing about tunes like this. Very nice. Take refuge in His Name. Amen! I hadn't noticed that in this psalm before. It's a theme for me, as in Proverbs 18:10 and Psalm 86:11, Psalm 9:10, Psalm 91:14.
Yes, these tunes from the 1500s and 1600s have a unique sound. They’re written without time signatures, so they feel very free and flowing. I love all the uses of the Name of God through the psalms. Another one that struck me recently was from psalm 52. “I will wait for your name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly.” And psalm 54. “O God, save me by your name!”
@@Destroyer83 God bless! Thanks for the subscription. I’m making my way all the way through the Trinity Psalter Hymnal. I try to post 1 or 2 new psalms a week.
You’re welcome! Thanks for listening. Follow for more psalms from the Trinity Psalter Hymnal arranged for guitar. My goal is to eventually have all the psalms recorded.
@@joshbarnett1176I’m so happy to have been of help! Don’t hesitate to use the videos in this way, that’s what we do in our congregation in Pueblo, CO as well! Also feel free to reach out if there are any other psalms from the TPH that you’d like a video or chords for. I’m happy to help. God bless!
Thank you for listening! I appreciate your feedback. I do find it’s more difficult to maintain good pitch while sight reading, as I was doing here. There is always room for improvement!
@tjhallett Thank you. We sang this in church on Sunday, and it was new to our congregation. I loved the tune and discovered you. Keep up your project with the TPH! It's appreciated.
@@valkyryn You’re welcome! It’s a really powerful tune. I had never heard it before, but I find it very singable and suitable to the text. It will be very powerful to have so many male voices singing it together at the retreat next month! May God add His blessing to it, and to your teaching.
Praise the Lord! Our family has greatly benefitted from singing the psalms in our family worship time. It so happens psalm 34 has been on my mind today, as it’s my 34th birthday. God bless you as well! Thanks for the comment.
I am considering learning some psalms with my wife and kids. Hoping to introduce some to my church one day. Definitely will be using your resources! God bless you sir.
Much, much respect to this project. I've been including links to your videos when I recommend Psalms for inclusion in our church's liturgy. Any chance you could jump ahead a smidge and give us Psalm 94A? I'll be teaching it, and we'll be singing it, at our annual men's retreat next month. Please?
Thank you for the encouragement! My family has been praying that God would use these videos to build up and bless His church. I’m humbled and grateful to hear the videos have been of use to you. I will record psalm 94A later today. Please reach out whenever you’d like a particular psalm recorded, I’ll be happy to help.
@@theshanghaier Hey thanks! It’s a really nice setting of the psalm, I agree. I’m working on a way to upload my chord sheets for all the psalms from the Trinity Psalter Hymnal, but until that’s done, could I email you the chord chart? Send an email to azhallett@gmail.com and I’ll respond with the chords. Thanks again!
You are very welcome! My church started using this hymnal at the beginning of 2024. I’ve so enjoyed singing through the psalms! God bless you and your congregation as well.
