Since i spent a lot of time by myself in July, most of my gaming was solitaire. My pick will be the 11 games of Final Girl that i played! I even won 2 of them, including smashing the zombies at Creech Manor. The survivors held up in the attic and i blasted away at the zombies at the front door! Super fun!!
Thank you Libby & Julian for those wonderful words about Pandora Celeste. I'm really glad you've had such a great time with it - and you certainly get the vibe we're trying to create 😈
Can definitely vouch for Confusing Lands, Comic Hunters, and Kelp. They are all excellent games. I'm also looking to check out several of your other mentions. I hope the new Foundations still has the same magic as the original. If not, I think my friend just ordered it. I just don't have space to keep a game that big.
Great relaxed review and the turnstile for the components is a nice touch…… going to play this tonight with the Mrs, we haven’t played it for a while, so thanks for the effort you have made…… cheers
I recently decided to get one TTR City game to add to my collection of TTR. One of our favorite game franchises. I chose Berlin, because it has the streetcars and subway cars to choose from. Reminds me of a simplified version of TTR Rails and Sails, which despite some negative reviews, we really enjoy. I will use the Berlin game as filler when a short game is needed or to introduce new players to board games. Don’t know if I really need more than one City game. I did appreciate your review of Paris!
One of these months I'm going to get it together and submit a clip! My best of the month is probably Sleeping Gods Primeval Peril! Quicker 2 player version of Sleeping Gods. The box says it takes 2 hours....but it took us more like 5. It was a little easier to manipulate the end game timer i think? So we had plenty of time to explore around!
Search for Planet X is my favourite (along with Chronicles of Crime). Runs the logic deduction puzzle, so the game doesn’t run the risk of falling apart if one player gives some incorrect information, and allows for a handicapping system where individual players can receive more or less information.
I see the city ones as mostly an introduction so London for me being the local city with a easy to explain twist of wanting to connect specific destinations works very well. The New York one is also super quick to explain but lacking the score track felt odd.
Very helpful, didnt know there was a smaller (The big Book) and a Giant. I did see the variant in which you get 2 books as a set to create a 24''-24'' map which is even bigger!
Sorry for your Slide experience! it's a lot brainier than what it looks and especially for a first game, it needs to "click" - It was great to see you!
Just found these Rogue dice at my local game store, and they are really fun to mess with. It's going to take some time getting use to the odd shapes and readings, but the theme just makes it feel really cool. Playing these at a table every week is going to be so fun!
Hello there! Me and my partner Karen are going to UKGE, Its our first games expo and on BGG a user called Chris McDermott posted some videos and this was one of them and i must say this is by absolutely miles the best of the four. You get to the point, you explain the core mechanics/style of game, you SHOW THE GAME!!! (this is SO important) and we have taken 5 recommendations from you, one you didnt mention and the only one we took from the other videos is an abstract race game called Spokes, please check it out! Thanks for the excellent video, i wish you all the best with the channel 👍
Its nice to see, we did actually did film what we said we would, so that's a good thing ! Still very much enjoyong Marital bliss at the moment as we pack for our Honeymoon tomorrow
Awesome to see some new Emerge content. I was first in line at the Pandasaurus booth at GenCon 2023 to pick this up and my gaming group loves it. Yes, it has a certain level of luck, but the amount of mitigation removes nearly all of it, and frankly the puzzle of how best to use your mitigation is what makes the game fantastic. It’s a great middle weight dice chucking experience with awesome water color visuals and enough of a thinky puzzle to keep your tactical brain going. Really disappointed that Pandasaurus as all but removed any publicity for it.
@@DontBeBoard Oh they just sent it to you? Interesting. Yeah I feel like I never see ads for it compared to some of the other games that came out last year.
the moment u put little red in low tier i realized this list is terrible. sorry bro, you just put the most fun character in low tier, thats just plain wrong.
@@DontBeBoard You gotta give her a chance. Try and play her 10 games in a row to truly grasp the mechanic. It gets really fun trust me. I still respect the list, you got lots of them right.
I can see how strong she can be if you know the deck inside and out - issue is I love playing different characters each time so never get into the rhythm
I was about to order this until I watched your video. I've already ran CoS before (don't own the book, own digitally on Beyond) and was hoping the supplemental material would have been nice and wanted to own the actual book. Once I saw it was soft cover and all the materials are... stupid... yah no. Even with $15 off at Barnes and Noble right now it's not worth it
We love Ticket to Ride and are always on the lookout for new versions. After playing the legacy game we discovered something though. Our perfect playtime would be 30 minutes and that game just doesn't exist (unless you count the first few games of the legacy campaign). The city line is a bit too short for our taste and normal TTR tends to overstay it's welcome. It's not meaty enough to warrant a full hour of our time.
@@DontBeBoard I can relate. I've got a two year old too. Happy little buggers but they demand so much time that our game preferences have significantly changed.
Totally agree! Sometimes I'm in the mood for good old Ticket to Ride, but the regular game is just too long, while these smaller box versions are not quite enough to scratch that itch.
