@dalbsterlcfc92 I found some more lost sky music, here they are as follows: - likely 31st March 2001 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u4bRSAvlxTM.html -> Not past 2004 because "UK Gold" rebranded to "UKTV Gold" in 2004 -> It is not past May 2001 because otherwise the EPG *should* be the dark blue variant -> First track is from the 2008 set, which is strange -> This shows us that this lost 2000 set was playing into early-mid 2001 - 12th november 2000 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GAifl9Fd9c8.html -> "Sky Float On" is heard which is strange because it is not in the 1998-2000 music set which means this could have been an addition by Sky for a few months until May 2001 -> The next track is unknown but it is likely made by the same production company as the rest of the tracks in this 2000 set -> This now proves that this unknown set was likely introduced sometime in 2000 (mid 2000 i reckon) @superlegendary needs to see this, so he can add it to his collection.

Capello said after the Germany game the players have been tired in this competition they did look lethargic lack of confidence and anxiety lack of ideas loosing the ball to easily poor touches But England always struggled do dominate possession in the golden generation era.
I did as well, went to my brother's first house he owned at the time to watch the game with his mates. It was an awful watch as you say, also remember Rooney at the end mouthing off blaming fans for booing.

@@sting1968 Yes I know we had better players than Algeria but you wouldn’t think so with that performance. Algeria were a poor side and poor defensively. England should be beating them it’s a joke
I wish these guys would be announcing on the radio nowadays, it’s so much more entertaining than the two we have on the television, especially that Scottish woman, (yes a woman announcing the England game, can you believe it?!) since us North Americans can’t understand her accent when she’s hitting the high notes, annoying.
The defending was shocking but in midfield and upfront we were rubbish too keep on loosing possession giving it away to easily. No balance in the team lack of movement giving it away time and time again offering nothing going forward.
Should've done, yesterday brought back memories of this game. Didn't deserve to win and was harsh on Slovakia. Definitely not winning the Euros playing like we are at the moment.
Alan Green really had a bee in his bonnet for Gazza for some reason. I really wish he was on commentary when he scored that goal. He even went on to say Proborsky's scooped lob was a better goal..behave alan you idiot..
We couldn’t keep the ball well we couldn’t play possession football. We kept giving the ball away and loosing the ball to easily and giving the Germans easy possession in this game. And lack of width was a big problem.
I like the music in the background. I was born in 2001, i didn't experience the menu much as i would remember the channel number instead. I had my parents old sky box for my bedroom and i had it between 2009-2013. I never experience the music in the menu as i would go through the channels just by pressing + and use the numbers. Watching this feels retro as i think back in those days they try make their marketing more cool and futuristic. Now these days they go for more simple marketing, no more crazy logo designs everything now is very safe as that makes the company seem ligit i geuss. Maybe in the future we'll go back to these vibes.
Legend, not a big snooker fan, but they had some real personalities in the 80's-90's you knew who they were without even being into the game. Happy memories of these shows watching as a kid, usually on a sunday after my bath in pyjamas with school the next day!
Green's comments are spot on...Despite what happened with Gascoigne's goal, Gazza was crap,i think the Euro 96 team run was so overrated..The 1990 England squad did not play great football (i thin they were reasons for that) but i tell you what they showed other qualities in abudance and still had world class quality in critical times..In 1996, Platt was rubbish, Gascoigne rubbish for the most part, but the team defended well with Adams and Neville and Shearer's centre forward was awesome with Sheringham showing his footballing IQ..The game against Spain was a travesty result...
The game showed that Lampard (apart from his canon shot) and Gerrard were nothing for England at international level...and the same went for Rooney and John Terry..
They just didn't fit in a cohesive system. Capello played a rigid 4-4-2 which was becoming outdated whereas Germany played a more dynamic, fluid 4-2-3-1.
First voice we hear is Alan Green - reminded me just how much I hated his style, thought SO much about himself and no-one else, always moaning despite being paid, a lot, to attend games around the world that us mere mortals couldnt get tickets to, was especially rude when being forced to work in small comm boxes at lower league clubs in cup games etc, SO unlike Motty in every way. Very true - when he just commentated on the game he was ok, but never understood how he got away with sounding off so much. Mike Ingham in contrast was superb and was always impartial, thankfully John Murray's continued that style of commentary since taking over.
