In this channel I will create videos teaching some of the techniques that I have learned for creating projects jigs and fixtures and associated woodworking accessories.
I wouldn't wish anyone to get hurt while woodworking in a shop using any piece of equipment. Know your tools and know your ability and always use caution, that's what I say. Thanks for watching.
You are welcome. This has been one of my most popular videos. Never dreamed it would be so helpful to so many people. Thank you for watching and God bless you too.
I've seen something similar to that. They make all different configurations I guess it's just a matter of the manufacturers idea of what's best. Thanks for watching.
Hals Wood Shop. Thanks for another lesson that many can benefit from these tips. I am 72 and have a mixed assortmentt of these and some other countersink bits to fit the task. I have moved the round depth set over to regular bits, after the bit broke to make any drill bit needed, and it works well. You hinted about more drills....hmm the age old question " why do you need another drill?" so I have 5. My Ryobi, a multi speed Black n Decker for countersinks and light drilling, 2 impact drills. Recently I tried the HF Bauer drill and impact set 20vt., I can say a nice weight. very good power. I bought a second battery. And for the cost a warrantee on the drill set. I like being pragmatic., 6 months and it runs well. Another time ....see the Hercules Plunge Router set...see Shop Ramblings utube...mine was 130 with the warrantee, many good features and extras.
Thanks Hal for watching the video. Yes, I figured there was some newbies out there or novices that needed to learn about these things. Yeah, I mention the fact that I could use another drill but actually I do have another drill. It's a corded Master mechanic drill. I picked up a long time ago years ago and it works great. It just has a cord on it and I neglect to use it. I like Bauer I have some Bauer stuff, few pieces of it and I would n't be opposed to buying Bauer again. I mean it's a great cost savings and it's great for the hobbyist I haven't had any problem with them failing. Have a good week.
Thank you Sir ! I saw the set on Amazon and then searched RU-vid for any reviews. Your demonstration shows they work qute well. I will now make the purchase !
******I got a new phone. It was quite an upgrade from that current phone which took great videos, but I think this one takes even better videos. They look so much more crisp and clear and authentic to my eye. Tell me what you think if you guys can notice a difference.
Are you talking about the pocket hole drill? That's a special drill that comes with the pocket hole kit. It's a 3/8 but it has a smaller size on the tip which is like 1/8 of an inch. It's called a step drill. I hope this answers your question . Thanks for watching
Looks like Ill be trying my hand at a planter box now. 😊 As time for you allows....a longer video is something I would look forward to. Keep on making sawdust!! ☕
Thanks for watching the video as always, I like your comments as well. I did make a long version of this video this is just a clip from the long version if you look in my catalog or on my channel you'll see the long version it's about 17 minutes long. Have a great Sunday!
Thanks for watching. I didn't come up with the CA glue and PVA glue combination. I learned that from some other woodworkers online it seems to work pretty good. Like
Came here after being told I needed to get a plug cutter, or bung cutter and had never heard of them before. What's the difference between these and hole saws? #1, and #2 if your cutters are burning, can they be sharpened? Are you going to try sharpening your plug cutters at all?🤔
Thanks for watching the video. I wouldn't advise using a hand drill you need the downward pressure from a press that works best also the drill press is perpendicular a hand drill may cut them at an angle if you don't have exactly straight. I haven't had much success with trying to sharpen and plug cutters but I did try sharing one and it didn't work out well. When they get dollar I plan on taking to my sharpening guy who does my saw blades it shouldn't be too expensive to sharpen those.
Most are that's what makes them such good references. Thanks for your comment and watching the video. Nice to have somebody speak what's on their mind and give their input to the topic. Have a great blessed day.
If you are rehabbing an old plane and you have to reflatten the bottom it's good to check and make sure you haven't gotten it off while using the higher-grit sandpaper. Also cheaper hand planes being mass-produced in China may not be to a proper tolerance that you will need to adjust. This check is mostly needed when you are using your plane with a shooting board, otherwise it's not as critical for most surfacing work.
I once made several critical cuts using a square that I didn't realize was out until I started assembly. Wrecked the whole project. Folks, listen to Roger's tips!
Thanks. Found your channel while trying to find a decent quality brand. I see a bunch on Amazon and I have no idea how long they’d stay sharp for. Perhaps this is another case on you get what you pay for.
Roger, cutting the top on the Table saw is a pretty standard method. It the box were bigger it would really be the normal way to do it. This is really a nice gift.
Hey thanks Dann, I gave this to my wife Pam. She loves it. I got the wood from the side of the road. Then I waited for it to dry out. Farm to table kinda thing..lol
I do talk in some of the videos. Giving a blow by blow description. Some of them I just don't talk just to see what the difference is as far as viewer response goes. your comment helps.
I was waiting to see how you were going to adjust the bottom after putting on the first slat on each side. Nice work! It looks great and I didn't see any multi thousand-dollar power tools!
Thank you I enjoyed watching your work. I'm working on a basket such as yours that has ends that are heart shaped. I am going to subscrive to your chanel.
