Please don't feed the deer; bread? You gave that doe 5 pieces of toast bread??? She might be hungry but you're not helping feed her properly? Deer have sensitive stomachs. I saw a video of a well intentioned man and woman who bottle fed a fawn Cow's milk and that caused the fawn to convulse. The fawn could have died! Please if anyone is going to feed a wild animal do some research so you don't cause any harm! The only substitute to Deer's milk is Goat's milk!!! Thank you...
Bread is not good for deer. Similar to corn, bread often contains ingredients that are simply too high in starch for a deer to digest comfortably. Wheat and barley’s starch content can lead to anything from simple indigestion after consumption to death, depending on how much a deer has eaten.
We are taking all the good land so its our job to help them on their way.Bread is the worse thing to give them man do some research, please.Mans food is NOT for animals.
You should never feed deer with bread. The stomach of deer can't handle it at all. You can do a lot of damage with it, because bread, in particular, can cause very severe flatulence and colic. If they are hungry, they logically accept it gratefully, but normally the animals can cope with the search for food on their own even in winter. Feeding them bread is not good for the animals, even if it is well meant.
You have to think about all of the chemicals that are in store-bought bread. If deer come around your house frequently, please find out what is good for them. It can be dangerous even then, because not everyone is as kind as you are.
Everyone’s talking about how the deer should’ve been given something more healthy, but if I were a deer I think I’d just be grateful to be given free food in the first place. Beats having to forage for food.
I wish that a deer would come to visit me ,I would have fruit an carrots ! So go buy them some food to eat an fix than any a bottle ! PLEASE ,them babies r hungry!!
I've got deer that frequent my yard, I'm tempted to feed them, pretend they are my friends, but it would only serve to satisfy my whim's and not the best interest of the deer. It's nice to be able to watch them from a relative close distance, they are aware of my presence and don't consider me a threat, but if they become too comfortable around people, it usually ends up bad for the deer.
You should feed it carrots and apples and acorns, not bread and especially non-nutritious white bread. A multigrain bread with seeds would be good. Truly, apples, carrots, acorns are better. Or macadamia nuts.
