I love all things vintage. Especially 50's-80's. I also do reviews and restorations on mostly vintage toys, models & comics. I also dabble in vintage radios, record players and records.
Anybody had a leg disc breakoff? I was thinking about kit bashing a new one on but eh... not too experienced and would have to saw down the area where it meets the hip and match it from scratch sanding gradually til it fit. Damn thing flew and snapped, hitting the floor as I finally pried the nearly impossible to separate torso halves apart!!
Wow how old is that Armor flat black spray paint? It looks like something out of the 1960s 😂 Your model came out nice! I have several different releases of this old kit waiting to be built, including this version.
Can you scan and post the entire service manual? I bought one of these (red and white) in pieces, and haven't any idea how it goes together. Also, a very light oil made for Hammond Organ tonewheel generators might be better, because it won't "gum up" the works. It can be ordered from Tonewheel General Hospital. Search for it.
I just got the ren yesterday at a garage sale. He originally talked really fast to the point where you couldn’t even understand him. Took him apart, cleaned the voice box, and now he works great! I got a stimpy as well but it’s not a talking one. I guess he’s supposed to fart but the function doesn’t work on mine sadly
My sister had this game. I was too young to understand what was going on so I know I lost all of the time. I remember stirring the cauldron, the tokens which I probably use all wrong and saying the spell like 'I hope so and so eats worms' or some other innocuous threat or wish.
Great video. Just bought it at flea mrkt today. Everything there except the sponge. LoL. That's part of the reason I watched this video , but stayed for the game play.
I think the older cars are Aurora pre AFX. I had some too in a "Serling Moss set made in the mid sixties. They had hard skinny tires on them but no magnet slots too help hold them down.
love this love how you restore talkers i think june forray did all the voices for these dolls including chatty cathy , i think will you play with me is a chatty cathy phrase,
Is the battery box glued at the pegs or all around. Does scoring just cut into the glue and loosen it that way or was it molded one piece? I was thinking about giving it a try on my old one. I was trying to score it around the bottom of the box but I stopped to ask you first. Thanks.
Nice build. A shame with the clear cote that came off, but it looks good nevertheless. I have the snap version of this kit, released i 1997. It's the exact same kit. No differences whatsoever. Even the instruction sheet is the same, including the tip telling you to "Use rubberband to hold doors to body while glue dries," which is a weird tip for a snap kit. It's like the people at Lindberg looked at it 10 years later, when they were going to reissue it, and thought to themselves "Hmmm, it you need to use glue, it's not really a snap kit, is it?" And then decided to reissue it as a skill 2 glue kit instead of a skill 1 snap kit. But in reality it's just a rebox of the original snap kit. Even the kit number is the same: 72712.
Your a hack, AMT- MPC ,That's a great kit, If your not familiar with trucks, then build something else, that's not exhaust, it's air cleaner, And you didn't follow instructions, because I have never put the entire tandems together separately, PLEASE STOP BASHING OUR HOBBY, FIND A DIFFERENT HOBBY!!!
