No we have not been "trying to become a US state" for a while. We were a full state of Spain, with full representation in the Spanish Parliament, when you decided to invade half the world and took us over. Maybe 30% of the population here wants to be a US state and it's purely about the money. You don't want us and we really don't want you. Thanks though.

Puerto Rico needs to be independent so it can take its rightful place amongst the other corrupt 3rd world nations. No need to have the U.S. prop it up anymore. If they don't want the military installations there, we can move them.
I think that we cannot generalize in Puerto Rico, not all of us want to be a state and if you look a little in the history of the island you will know that Puerto Rico in its history had the opportunity to be a state but the population did not agree because not all of us want this From the beginning I remind you that in the United States they have a big racism problem. 🇵🇷
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. We haven't really been trying to be a state. We were given citizenship for world War one (with a chance of becoming a state) But it will be close to impossible to become one. It's been more than 100 years of "trying". It's just a big lie from politicians to gain votes. I believe we are closer to independence than we are to being a state.
ngl its such a waste to j kill the when it couldve been used for medical research (a frustrated med student who had to spent a lot of moneys on bunnies)
