Yes! 🌸 I haven’t inked it yet because I want to share the experience, but I pick it up daily, hold in my hand, look at all the beautiful parts, including the converter, and consider then reconsider my ink choice. It’s silly because I can eventually experience them all. I’ve started back to work and have less time for pen play. They are now in work horse inventory. 🌸💗🖋️
Yay! I am so excited for you Marcy! I purchased directly from Bunga Box in an EF and was so surprised at the speedy shipping! I used this pen writing it dry in a week or so, and despite the cap difference, it did not effect the ink flow at all. I love Esterbrook Estie pens! They are so beautiful and write so smooth.

You’ve probably already figured out that the top cap can be unscrewed/loosened to move the clip around to wherever you want. That way you can change your viewpoint anytime. I just got mine and am wondering what inks you feel do best with this pen. Thanks for your reviews.
Your question caused me to seek additional info. In the hand they feel the same. I have four colored Preras and one clear demonstrator. I just flushed three of the pens. The only one inked in my new pink one. I weighed all pens capped and then weighed just the caps. The lightest weight in grams was the clear demonstrator at 15.38 g. The Ivory was the highest at 15.58g. I think the price difference comes from the Con-40 converter. The colored ones only come with a cartridge. You have to purchase your own at the price between $5-7 each. Multi packs are cheaper at Amazon. The demonstrator comes with a converter, so I think the price difference reflects additional materials. Thanks for your wonderful question. I hope you enjoy a Prera soon! Yes, it’s always a work in progress and has already changed since this photo. The white shelf has been phased out as I finally assembled the twin to the tall shelf yesterday. I am awaiting the arrival of another storage element for the cart. Thanks so much for watching.

Love this purple!I did open one with a craft knife on my last ink vent in ‘21. And I ended up losing pretty much the whole bottle and made a big mess. Wish they had a perforated seam to take them off.
Oh no! Sorry about your mishap. I’ve tried using a tweezer tool to pull the plastic, but I can’t get a strong grip. The craft knife scratches the finish as I’m digging in. Yes, a perforated seam would help. I’ve accidentally tipped an open small bottle once in each of the last two collections, spilling half. @@MarcellHobbs Quite some time before I bought the J.Herbin 350th Anniversary ink bottle. Is there any easy way to remove the wax sealing over the bottle lid?? I find it almost impossible to remove it without damaging the lid. Heating it up messes up the whole thing. Please give some suggestion.
@varadharajannadarajah I have a J. Herbin 1798 and three 1690s. All bottles have wax on the cap but it does not adhere to the bottle for a seal. I have never removed the wax. I just unscrew and screw the lids on the bottles with no issues. I hope this helps.
Hi👋thank you for showing a near alternative to the Golden Beryl. We bought ourselves a TWSBI demonstrator each to try a shimmer ink without any danger to my wife's other fountain pens, only this April. Ink bought for mine is the 2024 Golden Lapis, gold shimmer in a lapis lazuli blue ink. My wife wanted the Golden Beryl but it's no more, alas too late. You see, she often uses red paper with gold paint/pigment pan but doesn't want to use a gel pen for gold writing. The gold has to look like real gold, 24ct, not the third gold content pale standard in the UK, so the Golden Beryl seemed just what she was looking for. The golden sands is not quite there unfortunately and if it isn't then it will disappear on the red just leaving a bit of glitter. So the search continues! At the moment she has the Ferris Wheel Press Sunlit Jade ink in the Royal Jade TWSBI Eco-T with the Stub 1.1 nib and so far, zero problem 3 months later having left the ink in the pen as developed De Quervains Tenosynovitis so can barely hold a pen. Has written a word a month to test it minimally so far. That's life of course, but hope your hand all well soonest, and thanks for the video :)

I haven’t experienced the FWP Sunlit Jade. I’m glad you’ve found a satisfactory ink. I do love my TWSBI pens for shimmer inks. As a teacher, I do enjoy the use of the Preppy at school as not to worry. I do not have a Plaisir or Procyon. I tried the Nice, but did not like the feel of the corrugated body. I’m so glad you understand as a pen collector. Enjoy! So nice to hear from Sweden!

Yes, the bottle does say chameleon. I do believe the change was from green to gray on the base shade. The shimmer was so heavy that it was hard to see on the swatch card. I’m glad I swatched a bit on the copy paper. It was more evident there and in the water.
Yes, very intense shimmer. I think, since I come from the aquarelle and acrylic world, I link chameleon to sheen rather than shimmer but I'm learning more and more about the world of fountain pen ink. 😉
So the common planner is the same as the academic, just different start dates? I bought the academic calender because I'm in my last year of my masters, working full time and I absolutely have to be more organized. Was it dumb of me that I bought the academic planner as a student/regular job?
You are correct. They are the same except for academic dates. I think you made an excellent choice, but I’m not sure of your needs. Don’t forget about the half year and undated planners.
@MarcellHobbs well I definitely will be needing a weekly schedule and daily over look. I'm working full time and am doing 2 full of days of clinical. So basically 56 hour work week, along with school
This will help keep your schedule in focus. I do keep a separate A5 as a personal planner to document life events as well as scheduling. I use my daily pages for devotions.
Yeah the diamine scent team needs to stop putting snuff up their nose and do teir job lol the only one that smelt anywhere near a normal smell was spruce and thats about it :)

After a while the granules will separate and the ink will be less viscous but then you will have the other problem of the ink becoming dry. i would suggest doing regular cleans of your pen track the performance across pens but also weather warmer weather vs colder weather. I have had the issue it resolved itself over time but then i had the other issue that i mentioned

I adore the comfortable weight/size of my Pelikan 200/400 family, Esterbrook Jr., and Preras, more than my Kaweco family, except for Liliput (love her) and my single Opus 88 mini. Of course, I always enjoy the pen in my hand at the current time. 😂🥰🖊️
I seemed to have missed this video, so I've watched it now. A very blingy ink. I liked it when it was wet but the dried swatch is a little too much for me, although it was nice in writing with your Kakimori pen. So I'm a little confused! 😆🩷 I didn't like Benu's first when I saw them, now I love them. So you'll never know, I could change my mind. 🙃
💙 I was totally opposite with my BENUs. At first I loved all the bling and the Schmidt nibs ( 2 B and 2 M) but now I hardly reach for them. I still adore their beauty. I need to put them in my rotation more often. I strategically purchased one to match each season. I currently have my Spring color, Luminous Orchid, inked, but haven’t switched to my Summer color, Luminous Amber. I missed my Winter Briolette Milky Way and I have so many shimmer blue inks to use! Yes, there are phases of likes and dislikes that we go through.
I had the same Prera colour, it looked red when I bought it and I was kinda disappointed when I got it and saw it was such a bright, fuchsia pink. I actually wanted the Ivory but it had sold out at the time. Once I managed to get my Ivory, I gifted my pink Prera to my Aunt, she loves hot pinks. Prera's are great little pens, I have the CM on mine and I love it. 😀

How does narwahl one’s performance with the shimmer inks? Have you experienced any issues with the cleaning? I e-mailed Galen to ask about it and they say it won’t be a problem but I wanna make sure. Thank you.
I have not had trouble cleaning the Narwhal or TWSBI pens with shimmer ink using water. As an extra measure if you ever experienced a stubborn ink, you could disassemble or use one flush. I have a newer video with a different Narwhal (Nahvular) where I did just that. Narwhal makes a great quality pen at an affordable price. My experience with their nibs has always been enjoyable. I've ordered a Prera in the soft blue color, but since I haven't received a shipping notice I'm not sure I'll actually get it. I like the classic look of the Prera. If I couldn't get the blue pen, I'd have selected the pink.
I hope you receive something soon! Remember, the colored pens do not come with a converter. If you plan to use one and do not have one already, you may want to order. While convenient, they are not necessary. Let be one if you need help flushing and filling a cartridge.
