It's been 13 years. I watched this once from my friend's DVD whom is an avid fan of AMUSE. She purchased the DVD from AMUSE website long ago. As usual, AMUSE boys' live musical stages are not disappointing including this Black & White. I don't know the exact translations but hopefully this summary helps (sorry if there is any error) (1) PROLOGUE 0:00 - 6:19 -Voices questioning about why the world exists with 2 contrary kinds (like a yin yang) e.g man & woman, day & night, truth & false, black & white etc. -Next, a short cinematic animation showing the birth of a black angel num.18782 & a white demon with the same serial number. -Intro black angel: named Kuro, white demon: named Shiro. -OP BGM song with the dance performances of the tenshis (angels) and then the akumas (demons). (2) Part-1 6:20 - Delivering tenshi's motivational quotes & emphasizing on how to live & be as pure as white 6:45 - Akuma's version which is totally opposites of tenshis. 7:10 - Akuma's 1st training session; the akuma leader asked his minions to demonstrate on how a real akuma talks to the kidnapped kid's parents via phone. (Shiro being too softy & the leader scolded him) 7:54 - Tenshi's 1st training session; the tenshi leader asked his followers to demonstrate on how to deliver angelic message to coax an injured little girl. (Kuro being not so angelic & the other tenshis responded with an overwhelmed scream) 8:22 - Akuma's 2nd training session; asking ransom money. (Shiro being softy again & asked small ransom money) 9:03 - Tenshi's 2nd training session; not sure what was it about, probably something to do with frustration and depression. As usual, Kuro being not angelic suggesting a vicious message: "Drop dead already!" 9:18 - 14:00 Tenshis & akumas took turn to reenact a crime passion scene of a two-timer boyfriend ended up Kuro gave a justification to put the blame to all involved in the scene & despised the tenshis who were ignoring him to his existence. 14:01 - 16:50 Akuma's training scene: demonstrating on how to kill & rip a soul from human. The leader asked Shiro to try & practice but our softy Shiro could not do it. The leader got too angry & called Shiro = yowamushi (useless) while doing the killing & soul-ripping demonstration. He explained the soul of a devastated person due to the lost of their beloved is the most beautiful. He punished & belittled Shiro with labelling him "yowamushi" & "iyanayatsu" (the unwanted) derived from his serial number 1(i) 8(ya) 7(na) 8(ya) 2(tsu/two). 16:55 - 17:45 Shiro's solo scene: feeling rejected & dejected
17:50 - Shiro found a bag & took a video tape. He watched the tape shown a video about TOMODACHI (making true friends to share happy / hardships with so that you won't be suffer alone & lonely). Shiro learned about TOMODACHI though the video taught him funnily. Shiro feeling motivated to find & make friend so he went outside Akuma Realm for an adventure to find his 1st friend. Akuma Realm was in uproar due to Shiro's missing / running away. The akuma leader demanded Shiro to be found & held captured. 23:00 - Kuro lost in his thoughts. A lost / wandering treasure hunter soul saw him. The guy belittling Kuro for his appearance of not looking so angelic & his serial number (iyanayatsu) like what Shiro experienced. The treasure hunter guy explained something about rare jewels called "Blue Garnet" which can fulfill any wish if they completed locate & collect them. Kuro got interested to search for the gemstones together with the treasure hunter in hoping that he could be a true white tenshi. Unfortunately, the Tenshis were chasing Kuro to get him held captured but Kuro managed to escape with a slight injury on his arm. Kuro & Shiro's 1st encounter, both of them get acquainted in a bit comical way. Shiro wanted to try make friend with Kuro using the knowledge from the video which Kuro find him annoying. Shiro became overly excited & insisted to be Kuro's friend after he found Kuro's number is the same like his & Shiro thought it was a fate they met each other. The treasure hunter guy rushed Kuro to find the Blue Garnets; Shiro voluntarily followed Kuro from behind. Treasure hunter guy's solo scene: voicing his own agenda with the Blue Garnet gemstones. -hoodie figures dance performance (BREAK1)
(3) Part-2 36:22 - Rose Okama Trio idiotic themes of dance performances. Kuro & Shiro challenged the Okamas with dance battle by betting the 1st Blue Garnet on Red Rose Okama's head. 44:25 - Tenshis were busy looking for Kuro & found a white feather of akuma's wing (Shiro's). 44:54 - Magnet poles funny dance performances. Kuro & Shiro challenged them by making the poles separated through a fancy clapping & dance for the 2nd Blue Garnet. 52:55 - As usual, the annoying treasure hunter rushed Kuro again. 53:50 - Akumas were busy looking for Shiro & found a black feather of tenshi's wing (Kuro's) while both of them hiding. 54:40 - Shiro tried to get to know closer with Kuro but he has not openly accept Shiro yet. Shiro watched the video again for the TOMODACHI (funny but touching) lesson tips. 59:20 - Treasure hunter guy, Kuro & Shiro met agile Sakasama being (it's something to do with upside down; I think). Both of them challenged Sakasama in a word game. They need to come up words that can be sound the same even though they read backwards until they managed to get the 3rd Blue Garnet. -hoodie figures dance performance (BREAK2)
(4) Part-3 1:05:35 - Shiro excitedly exclaimed if the Blue Garnets completely collected, they both could be true friends. Kuro was in bad mood, he cannot stand & destroyed the TOMODACHI video. Shiro scolded Kuro acted like an akuma (a demon). He repaired the damaged video tape & in his deep slef thoughts. 1:08:24 - Yakuza Mushrooms played Daruma game with Kuro. When Kuro thought he could get the final Blue Garnet, it turned out the Yakuza Mushrooms were Tenshis in disguise. Kuro got caught. 2 angels guarded him. 1:11:44 - (Not sure what the treasure hunter guy mentioned) 1:13:20 - Treasure hunter guy led Shiro to Kuro after made the tenshis go away. 1:13:25 - Shiro helped Kuro free after Kuro agreed to befriend with him. 1:14:12 - The guard tenshis came back, saw & arrested both of them. Shiro insisted the tenshis to not hurt Kuro because he is his friend but the tenshi leader claimed the absolute rule of that world is tenshi & akuma cannot be together. 1:15:27 - Treasure hunter guy passed a knife to Shiro, to motivate Shiro in fighting for Kuro. Shiro managed to hurt one of the tenshis and they retreated. Kuro freed again. 1:16:25 - TOMODACHI sensei gave final tips and reminder before became total damage for good 1:17:05 - Kuro asked Shiro's condition whether he was okay with what he did against the tenshis. Shiro responded positively & happily confident that him being successfully became true friend with Kuro. At this point, Kuro accepted Shiro as his 1st friend & reminded Shiro not to sing that embarrassing TOMODACHI song again.
1:19:00 - Kuro & Shiro met a blind guy. He correctly guessed Shiro as an akuma, and Kuro as a tenshi wondering why both of them together. The blind guy said he won't give the Blue Garnet neither to them because it is their world's heart & probably will be misused by concluding the tenshis would use it to kill akumas or the akumas would use it to destroy tenshis. Then the blind guy laughed out loud; mentioning their numbers and their meeting were destined as in 18782 + 18782 = 3(mi) 7(na) 5(go) 6(ro) 4(shi) which defined as "total annihilation". The blind guy probably explained the (forbidden) meeting of Kuro & Shiro would resulting the total destruction of the world but Shiro gaslighted by the treasure hunter attacked the blind guy to get the Blue Garnet he owned for his desperate attempt to be Kuro's friend forever. 1:26:27 - Shiro was losing his energy and said he became sleepy after he passed the last Blue Garnet to Kuro. Treasure hunter guy deliberately explained he forgot to explain that after all the Blue Garnet gemstones are gathered, 1 important thing will be taken as a sacrifice. Then Kuro just realized Shiro was his important belonging. Kuro called out Shiro loudly. Treasure hunter guy asked Kuro to activate Blue Garnet and say his wish on his behalf but Kuro wished for Shiro's revival instead. 1:33:37: The treasure hunter guy ran away in frustration. Shiro awaken back & happy seeing Kuro fully accepted him. Unfortunately, tenshis & akumas in war against each other due to the Minagoroshi effect consequences of Kuro & Shiro being together (as the blind guy & treasure hunter guy mentioned). Treasure hunter guy last sarcastic words: You are actually destined not to be met!
i love what they did with the finale. i could not dare choose between the two, and as if on cue, tanoue enters. and then others from the past episodes enters the scene. i also love takeru's and haruma's little bro convo at the end. it was so natural, as if they were really talking as best friends. i really enjoyed this film show series. 😁
