This has a better script, and choreography than the actual movie. Why didn't it turn out this way?? However, there is a conflict here cause despite Rodan saving him, Godzilla still stares him down with intimidation. Instilling fear into Rodan to still bow before him. Now, fundementally, I don't like the Alpha hierarchical ecosystem plot anyways, it simply conflicts with the immersion. Godzilla 2014 did a wonderful job keeping every species acting in what would seem to be their natural instinct. Humans being... well, actors being actors, Godzilla and the MUTOs acting as animals would if they were to fight for territory and food. The second Legendary installation to the Godzilla franchise kind of ruined the immersion that was projected in its first installment by adding this hierarchical ecosystem amongst the titan kaiju. Although it was a great movie, I couldn't help but find myself always being cut off from the immersion whenever I watch it. It seems as though the artistic passion and commitment to that was placed and maintained in Godzilla 2014 fell off at some point in the making of the second movie and continued to move away from that. Instead, adding creativity, glorifying scenic fight scenes(which is cool, but the choreography doesn't align with the more realistic approach; which I feel delivers more intensity and immersion to those fight scenes or really any screen time featuring a kaiju), and sacrificing the passion and seriousness for the sake of picking a plot and building on it to meet the box office demand. I feel like this is a trend with alot of movies. I feel like we could have had way better movies if they weren't afraid to take risks to find a way to maintain immersion, maximize the thrill, and pursue the realistic instinctive actions that animals in reality have. If you have watched a real fight between 2 grizzly bears on youtube, it would peak your interest because that's what our brains naturally pick up and find fascination in. Or when you see 2 wolves fight for food or how 2 birds of different species have a "dog-fight" through the air. I just want movie companies to take more risks to maintain immersion. Sonic, great movie, not a serious movie, some of the comedy points there ruined the immersion without reason and it's these sacrifices that show the cracks in the confidence of the departments, the writers, and the directors that put in the time and effort to make the said movie(I'm speaking in general here). I just want movie makers to take risks. Risks like the design and message put out by the original Gojira (1954, Japanese original). It was a message to end the use of nuclear weapons and they did not lack on the dread and despair the movie projected. It was a powerful movie that many appreciated. But was forced to be redesigned to be suitable for the American consumer audience and hence the creation of Godzilla: King of the Monsters(American redesign) that many know today. Or risks like the makers of the Metropolis(1927) movie took, or perhaps something more modern and different like the video game we all know and love as "Fallout" in which the message caused controversy with activists who said that the game was propaganda for capitalism or whatever, but the makers came out and said that the actual message was that humans will never stop fighting and that war is inevitable. Which leaves an abrasive impact on the heart at the time that some just couldn't accept and probably still don't to this day. Still fantastic masterpieces. They still had their flaws, but for the majority, the immersion impacted many. Making people beg questions of self-reflection and existence ergo changing people's lives. Of course, with this approach, if we as a society take this approach, we hope to achieve influences for the betterment of society. Encouraging critical thinking of philosophy and self-reflection of one's morals, values and ethical practices not just in a moment, but for many many moments in peoples lives. But now, it seems as though movies today for many years have been minmaxing to reach or exceed profit margins and to "check boxes". The lack of passion is very clear and I think people today are waking up and noticing more and more as this trend of modern social agendas continue to be pushed. And for what? Sacrificing creative passion, thought-provoking cinamatics, and courage for the delusions of activist groups just avoid ridicule and the risk being "cancelled" by activist groups? "checking boxes" to capitalize on those who virtue signal? Heed my words, I listen, and I listen well. Their fear and greed makes them fall short, and in their failure they continue their petty practices out of spite. This collection of videos on RU-vid and this creator has- NO-SHIT -revived a desire I lost a long time ago. The desire to feel impact from a movie that changed the foundation within me forever. Iron Giant, the Teen Titans, the Odyssey, Interstellar, Sixth-Sense, the need for ground-breaking, impactful, thrilling movies has been what I and many others yearn for. But let's not forget other sources like books and video games, comics and TV-shows, and even historical masterpieces! If anyone agrees, like this now. And thank you for reading.
