M. Carter Productions is the brainchild of Murray Carter, Master Bladesmith and owner of Carter Cutlery.
After years and years of communicating the information only Murray has learned in his discipline of bladesmithing, Murray has decided to seek out and interact with experts from their respective fields in order to learn and convey their lifetime experiences for our viewers.
The editing went to crap at the end. Why flash cut the shooting portion and not allow proper viewing of rise and jump from each round? The dialogue was plus overall, bu tthey ruined it at the end with the editing.
I shade my sights sometimes. You get used to what a 2moa shade looks like thru practice. I've seen some really good shooters that never touch their vintage knob.
You brake before a corner and throttle on through the apex because inertia and centrifugal force keep your bike planted through the turn regardless if it is on wet pathment or gravel.
No doubt you start to feel the wsm(23-27 ft.lbs recoil energy) after a while. I start noticing my 325wsm(32-35ft. lbs recoil energy) when bench shooting to verify different ranges and testing reloads.
Palma shooting seems interesting. I mostly shoot offhand out to 200. If I could find a place to shoot that distance I could see getting serious in Palma. Not crazy about the leather jacket but I am sure it works.
Its interesting to hear all the "grunts n groans" coming from the shooter. After doing this for 25+ yrs at Bisley, England I find I "grunt N groan" just a little more as each season passes! After a string of 2 + 10 (2 sighters & 10 to score), or even 2 + 15, it feels like I've been on the losing side of a fight these days.
Don't care how good you are, these bikes are crap off road. Rephrase it to rough road, or light single trail adventure. There are trails that I can barely get through with my 300lb duel sport. These monsters have no business doing real "off road" trails. Just a few days ago my bike sunk into dry dense mud in a marsh that a single trail track ran through. Took 40 minutes to get out. I'm not the most skilled rider, but it does not matter, the back tire would not even spin because of how bad it was stuck. These "adventure" bikes are not off road bikes, they are rough road adventure bikes with minor single track capabilities at low speed. If you took one of these bikes where I got stuck, you'd have to leave the bike there and walk out.
I would seriously appreciate the opportunity to have Stan coaching me for a shoot! He is definitely a good man. He seems like the talk soft and carry a big stick type... Full of info and a very smart and humble man.
mine shoots that at 100yards. ASR 45acp. My favorite carbine. FYI. when shooting keep hand off magazine and don't limp shoulder it or it will jam. blue lock tight upper rail or it will come loose and wallow out the rail holes. lower rail bolts need to be lock tight as well, and long enough to engage the barrel nut, or the barrel will loosen. the scope that came with it failed. Got a Nikon 3x32 223 and it works great. testing done on stand with 230gr 45acp. 10 yards bullets threw same hole. 25 yards 1/2 groups. inch higher. No buyers remorse. I did put two extra screws drilled and tapped in upper rail
man....having that kind of knowledge at your disposal is invaluable....and more humble than anything else......best way to learn is from the masters themselves that a passion for teaching
Great video, good instruction. Im new to full bore peep shooting and love it, but can certainly relate to beginners pain, haha. I love that stye of shooting an it is truly amazing what can be achieved with peep sights at long range. One criticism, if I may... you should never close the bolt with the rifle pointing in the air (above the butt stop). We load and half lock but only close the bolt fully when on target. This was tactfully/quietly pointed out to me on the range. Its easy to do and make habit. Spread the word ;) Thanks for sharing your great videos!! :)
Hi, I know this has been posted for a while, and who will answer this. The question is to Stan. I recently bought a Savage 12 Palma, I plan to change out the barrel for a 10 twist and use this for F-TR. I shot my first 3 matches this year and as you might guess am now addicted. I love the stock on the palma gun but need to ditch the 13 twist palma barrel. my club here in WA has a 600 yd range so that will be my primary distance. Question I have for you is barrel length.... is there enough evidence to suggest that a 30" barrel will give a huge advantage over a 28" (Berger 185 HYB) Thanks for any words of wisdom.
What a great coach Stan is! When the student wanted to stop receiving instruction after his first shot, Stan quietly stepped back and let him "run the show." Accomplished instructors know when to stop offering their greatest value and support the student's preferred program. Great job Stan!
Not sure if it was the 17 or 19 but one had issues when it got down to the last cartridge. I'm sure you figured it out by now since you asked two years ago....d'oh. I need to check dates.
I just don't know if I trust them or not. Seems like a 50/50 mix of reviews. I like the idea of a PCC, but I'd be mad if I dropped $600-700 on a turd that would not function....
