I don’t quite understand how to pull the front drive shaft out with the motor in the frame. It seems I can’t move the motor back far enough or get enough room to get the yoke fat enough away to flip it up and remove it.
We all do bud thats life!! But you did a dam good job on explaining the build step by step only one I’ve seen on RU-vid that actually took there time and was an average person that’s doesn’t have all the mud build channels and is a normal so diy guy. You get 💯 from me using your video for my gen 1 as we speak rite now… 👍👍🔜🔜🔜keep them coming bud
Thanks a ton for these videos. I just bought a 2007 outlander 500 rebuild project. It has a loud motor knock so I am doing a full tear down. My first time and your vids helped get me over a few rough spots. Just about got it apart so will see the crankshaft area tomorrow. So far I see flakes of metal in one of the timing gear housing. The chain guide is frayed on that side as well. And the last bits of oil draining out look like chunks of mud! The pistons are fairly carbon coated and the plug tips are really coated up. Machine only had 2400 miles so it has been abused or not maintained. I hope I can get it fixed up. Want it as a second machine.
i have one of these engines.. less than 100 hours of use on it and the tensioner.. or something failed causing it to slip the timing chain off the sprocket. the chain never broken but sadly it has taken out the mount for the horse shoe clip.. so i think the engine is a scrapper :( the tensioner looks to have melted?? all molten plastic around it
Worked for me on the first try. How much of a job is it to get the new shaft in? I will be getting the new one in the morning. Any tricks to getting it in?
Thanks for the upload went riding last week and heard a loud clank sound in motor just started pulling mine out this video will help he a ton! Thanks!!!
So I have used a tie down strap like you and 8lb sledge to try and pull it off. Both side won't budge. Any suggestions. I have a 2004 outlander 400 XT. Want to do wheel bearings, just can't get the damn thing off.
@@nstockert I managed to get one side out. Waiting to get bearing to pull the other. Just gonna grease that one as the one I pulled seemed fine, just needs grease I think. Thanks for getting back to me. Gonna do the front to grease so will see how that is gonna go when I get into it. Hopefully a little easier.
2008 can am renegade ho efi. I need help bad with putting the stator cover back on. Theres a few issues, if you could contact me through fb messenger thatd be great, or even a live video chat
Those fuel line clips, I'm sure you figured this out already but for everyone else... you don't lift up on them you "push down"... pry them up and you will break them every time. Let the fuel pressure out of the line then push in slightly on the hose while pushing down on the clip with your thumb....that will release the clip then simply pull the fuel line off
