I started this channel to share some of my experiences with friends. I have a few hobbies or distractions which I will share. My main pass time is quadding in my 2006 Yamaha Rhino. I also enjoy racing my 1984 S15 GMC at the drag strip.

My new ( about 8 years ago ) hobby is setting Trail Cams and getting wildlife videos to share. I do not hunt.

@@jasonday4658 Hi, I have 10 cameras out. I live 1.5 hours from the forest, the cameras are located a total of 4 Km off a quad trail which I walk in and out. I used to check them every week but now it is getting more difficult for me to walk the uneven trails, I only go out every 2 or 3 weeks. If there has been a big wind I go out sooner as several of my cards will have a few hundred false triggers from blowing trees etc.

I had one Browning get replaced by Browning last year. The videos shoot in 4k. the one I replaced stopped working, I contacted browning, past warranty but they looked at it, electronic problem. Offered their top of the line camera and security box for $125.00 less than I pay for them here. The camera also triggers by noise. Thanks for watching.

Nice mods... I have an '07 with long travel suspension. Nowhere near the power and speed of the newer machines, but I don't care. At age 76, I just want reliability...hah. BTW, you have to be somewhat more than 1100lb with everything you've added, but she is obviously still serving you well. I may opt for those LED headlights since the stock ones are terrible. Ride safely....
@RhinoRider2006
@RhinoRider2006 9 месяцев назад
Thanks for watching. Yup, pretty sure I am well over 1200lb with all the shit I carry but I have not walked back yet. I get grief from a lot of guys about that. ON one outing I lost the axle nut, I had a spare nut ( I always keep them after an axle replacement) had the socket to put it on as well. I have been thinking of doing an addendum to this video as I have placed a few more items on it. I have placed a quick USB charger on the dash, a master shut off switch which doubles as security and does away with the parasitic drain, plus a light under the hood for night time problems
@melrobinson6919
@melrobinson6919 9 месяцев назад
First I've ever heard of someone losing an axle nut (with how they are torqued on and staked) ..but you had a spare and the correct socket..lifesaver. Now, I have heard of someone losing the oil plug.....me. Hah. And I didn't have a spare engine with me. Dang. As far as the extra weight, mine has a rear seat and adding an additonal person may be close to the extra weight you are carrying, and I have not problem with inadequate power to run down the trail, so to those giving you grief...Get a life!

@@melrobinson6919 The first time I lost one was after I had the front brakes done by the expert at the dealership. I went out to the mountains to ride, toward the end of the first day, left front wheel went left totaled the brakes bearings.the nut was to be tapped flat on the original wheels. Had to travel 100 km to get repairs, cost me $1200.00. After that when I blew an axle ( then purchased from parts discount they came with cotter pins) I would keep the nut, bought a socket to fit and carry it. Then I must have developed a bad hub, it destroyed the bearing and spin the nut off cutting the pin, happened twice until I took it off and my buddy saw the problem. The other problem was mine, I did not tork to 150 ft/lbs. Each time I had the repairs so I could drive out.. I do not lose a second of thought when guys ask why I got so much shit on my ride. I have towed more guys out and fixed more flats for guys than you can imagine. got my machine in 2005 ( it is an 2006) I have about 1100 hours on it, all trial riding.

I can’t remember if I asked you this before, but how was your engine breaking on your rhino. When you’re going down a hill, does it eventually kick out and free wheel or does it just keeps slowing the machine down to almost to stop?

You can stuff a rag or sonething in there to hold that plate tight against the rollers until you get the nut on. I put 1.7mm of shim to spread my sheaves a bit for more low end gearing and just installed a wet clutch shoe slug kit. The slugs make quite a difference. I left 4 of my rollers out and it had great low end power but reved to high before it would upshift so Going to order some lighter weights.I think stock is around 18 grams i’m thinking 14 would be perfect.

@@RhinoRider2006ya they are great machines. My machine is a HISUN 700 which is almost exactly the same as yours, but the parts are all made out of inferior metals and plastic. I did a pile of upgrades to it though, and I love the thing. I went on a pretty big, almost 600 km trip in the mountains with it and it made it there and back, but had a few battle wounds lol I just installed a thermostat because my cooling modificationsm actually worked a little too good. I bought one that fits a grizzly 660 because they use the thermostat and it certainly warms up a lot better and hopefully will hold my minimum temperature higher. It was running way too cool this summer when I would hit multiple water puddles on colder Days. I also bought power steering for it so I’m sure that’s going to be a game changer. I’m going to install it tomorrow. Would love to see an update on your machine if you did any more modifications to it.

Thanks for watching. I spent some time on your channel,. You are an adventurous guy,! I have done a few things to my 660 and to my wife's 700. I used the 700 to go out to check my trail camera. it got dark real fast as I was late leaving town. On my machine I have 2 14,000 Lumen LED head lights and 4 rigid pods.I found that the stock lights on the 700 are crap, just about could not find my way out of the bush as I was following a game trial. I have purchased some LED replacement lights like I have on my machine. they are about 14,000 Lumen s plus I bought 2 7 inch LED bars they are about 24000 Lumen's. I will post a video of the lights. On my machine I have installed a master shut off to eliminate the parasitic draw and theft deterrent, plus I install a dual USB super charger for charging phones and my InReach. I also got around to fixing the tail light wiring . It was always getting pulled down in the bush. I heat synced the connections and then tie wrapped them out of the way.

What happened is, the belt is used the keep the tension on your weights inside the hub and ramp plate in normal operation. upon installation or removal of the belt (there is no tension) and you allowed too much slop between the ramp plate and the hub allowing the weights to come out of position, meaning this is only achievable when the belt isn't in place and if you don't keep pressure on the ramp plate keeping the weights in the right position. Much love from Alberta Canada 🇨🇦

I do ride in the winter, in a different location. I normally walk in about 3 km following a large game trail. But to pick up 8 cameras and steel boxes, I need my quad. I decided that this year I will leave the cameras out all winter. That will happen this November. since doing it this way, I have not lost a camera for 3 years.
