The Friends of the Israel Antiquities Authority is a 501(c)(3) organization established in 1992 to raise awareness and provide financial support to the Israel Antiquities Authority for a diverse range of archaeological and educational projects throughout Israel requiring both public and private funding. Funds are provided for excavations and field-work, development of archaeological parks and gardens, publications, object conservation and restoration and conservation of antiquity sites. The Friends support the promotion of archaeological research and education, initiate the development of exhibitions of findings from Israeli archaeological sites to the U.S., and sponsor activities designed to share the antiquities and heritage of the Holy Land with as large a public as possible.

The copper scroll is disintegrating at the cuts. This is probably due to the cutting oil applied automatically by the cutting saw to the metal to prevent the blade from being clogged by the filings. Go to a Home Depot store and see a metal pipe threading machine in action and you'll see this same phenomenon. I doubt this cutting oil was removed after the cutting of the copper scroll and believe the oil has acid in it. The conservators of the scroll should research the ingredients of cutting oil.

I have a question pertaining to Arnold Ehret and his comments about Jesus. ✝️🍇🥬 In the Mucusless Diet Healing System, Arnold Ehret says "In Palestine we stayed several months, studying local customs, records and history of past conditions, with the result that my conception of the real meaning of the New Testament gospels was changed very much. I learned that Christ's life and teachings were in strict accord with now well known natural laws, which brought him superior intelligence and superior health..." and "My 'coming book' will state, with convincing proof, that Christ's parentage, so-called miracles of healing, and apparent changes of natural law, his resurrection and ascension, into 'Heaven', were in accord with natural law, but not then, and not wholly now, understood." I have tried to find the title of this book but have been unsuccessful. Is he referring to the book on the topic by Albert Schweitzer, or did Ehret write his own book about this? Also, does anyone know what these natural laws are as they pertain to health? (I know he has mentioned the '"aw of compensation", and the importance of simplicity..) Thanks! 🙏

It seems like the assumption is that the "Old City" like it is today, built by Suleiman and the Ottomans, was rebuilt almost exactly the same way as it was during the 2nd Temple period..?🤔 I'm not so sure about that. There is credible evidence that the city was so completely destroyed in 70 AD and even more so again by Hadrian after the Bar Kokhba revolt, that it was completely unrecognisable as a city, fulfilling the prophecy that "not one stone will be left on another". And seeing as Jews were then banned from the city for about 500 years after that, I highly doubt that any of the rebuilding that took place was based on what existed before 70 AD.

Most of the Temple Reconstructions are nonsense. Descriptions in the bible are at best symbolic. From a realistic standpoint...the reconstruction does not work. It does not allow vast movements of people, animals, goods, fuel, supplies etc. It fails to provide lodging for rotating teams of soldiers and priests that lived on temple grounds. It fails to satisfy simple things like disposal of waste. The monumental walls are interesting artistically....but where is the construction staging area? Forget monumental stairs. Think ramps. The temple was part of Jerusalem's urban design. There is no monumental connection between the city and its palaces and the temple. Most likely the temple was small, and the Roman fortress was big. The organization of the plazas have no relation to cult rituals....Form follows function.
