These have sooooo many extras it's hard to replicate. I saw our shortlines operating at night last week, they had so many lights on that little loco. Talk about custom. Wish I had a picture. Truck lights, walkway lights, even a da beacon and spot 🚨 wow!
I’ve been told many times how the NYC cigar band scheme doesn’t get enough attention, well, here we are. Even though the SDP45 was never rostered by NYC, they wear it well.
There are still modellers scared of adjusting CVs.And many opt to reset when they don't understand how their locos are responding. When they reset they loose all adjustments to date. Some think Soundtraxx decoders should be loadable, but all the relevant features are there.Downloading onto a blank decoder can be a whole lot of new problems. My opinion only.I prefer to have base settings to start, then adjust to suit.Tune as I go.
Just asking ? re H.O. engine 's ... Would SD 3 axle locos run on some 18" curves ? I'm a small layout modeler that I have started with.. Is it the swivel limits of the trucks or is it the 6 wheels ? I stick with 4 axles and GP type... I would like to expand!!
Hey Jim I really like those coalporter coal cars in CSX and CN and the Black and White cars of BNSF I bought from an N scale dealer a little while back but I m going to be waiting to buy the CSX and those CN coalporter coal cars I know my hobby shop will order those for me so i will be watching of course and thanks Jim for produceing those for us N scalers ok
Year to date purchases, six Athearn and two Scaletrains. I have always preferred Soundtraxx over ESU but the out-of-the-box running in MU of my Athearn units just outright sucks. Their is zero coordination of Econami with G1 and it shows. My trio of first run McCloud River SD38s and DWP SD40s are awesome but after, nope.
Athearn and SoundTraxx should make provisions in the shell for their current keeper. The boards have the plug; however, there usually is not any room in the model unless it is a cowl locomotive or F unit. That would help if one doesn't have to grind the frame to make it fit. Also SoundTraxx should include a low idle feature on their decoders. All their EMD sound files except the 710 idle too high, which is fine if the prime mover is cold, but once it warms up it settles down.
Yes, I would pay more for factory installed Blunami decoders. In fact, I having the Blunami decoder would play a major role in selecting which models to buy.
I’ve told George, they really need to figure out how to add a Bluetooth sound option to their decoders, which could eliminate the need for speakers in the locomotives. This would do several things such as eliminating cost of speakers, improve the sound in small equipment, and best of all, keep the peace for the layout owners who share the space with other members of the house. Fact is, most of the younger modelers probably have their earbuds in most of the time anyway, so I assume a feature like this would be very attractive to that segment of their customers. Please, make it happen George.
I feel like SoundTraxx really missed a good opportunity here, they should have made the Blunami decoders such that you could update firmware and sounds from your phone, rather than everything being permanently locked in. I know they talk about the billions of sound combinations on their decoders but still it is very limiting when you can't custom update things after the fact. Also they cost nearly double what an ESU decoder does despite lacking these features.
1:07-1:12 Seatrain and Southern Pacific scheme for 53' Stoughton Containers are never seen in real life, because Southern Pacific has only rostered their both 48' exterior-post and 48' smooth-side containers and the Seatrain containers were only ISO marine containers.
Do the new GP39-2s have the clean air room door and hatch? My atsf/bnsf from 6. 7 years ago is missing those pivotal details. Then Athearn was none responsive to this serious defect and simply told be to buy another one. I was very much disappointed with such a response. It's still nib and I'd like the long hood we should've got then.
Yes that is true, they have a long history and we gave the shorter history version. We may offer them in Guilford in a future run if the demand is there.
Really gotta knock off this pre-order (almost) only bs. EVERYTHING is getting out of hand price wise and unless the modeler is comfortably well off, pre orders are simply not possible. A lot of people across social media are worried that model railroading is dying. They are more right than the influencers want us to believe. The sad thing is, it's the manufacturers fault. Model railroading is hitting a HUGE social divide. The nice to good stuff is becoming only for the wealthy, and cheap junk for the rest of us. Make good stuff in quantity and charge a price real people can afford and you'll be swimming in cash. Keep going with all this limited stuff and you'll kill the hobby and put yourselves out of business.
I hope nobody is in a hurry to get one of these, I pre ordered from the last run in February- STILL WAITING!!!!!😢. Delivery date has changed three times.
Jim I have a question about BNSF 2727, if I order without the decoder, will the wiring still be there for the beacon and number board when I install the Blunami? Also will the speaker be installed?
Hello! If you purchase the DCC ready version, yes, all lights are included however the speakers are not and will need to be purchased and installed into the model by the modeler. ~ Jim
Hi Jim Good Evening to you hey there I would like to know does this GP 39 2 s models are out in N scale do you know of if so when did they came out and thanks Jim High Greens to you
These will look great on my layout! I have some older ones in my collection from previous runs. The shiny sides of the cars really make these a cut above other industry Bethgons
