In the video I had the full 800pt list with both bears and all 20 beornings, on the display board. Haha so that didn’t help. 😅 The 700 is both bears, 15 Beornings/ 3 with bows.
@@joewhite4456 Mwahaha, my tired post PM shift ramblings strike again. Yes you should totally make a display board for them. Lucky you don’t need to make a very big one based on the small model count. 😉
You mentioned Gwaihir rended Legolas to death after he charged him and knocked him down. It wouldn't make a difference since you need 3's either way, but just an FYI that rend strikes don't double against trapped models.
I would say the rider can attempt to resist Panic steed as it says it targets cavalry (keyword) models unless it has no will, in which case it should have tried harder at school!
@@NickTaylor-ci7by yeah we sort of determined that later and made some concessions end game to try and make up for that fact. The only reason I was learning towards it because in the blurb of text above it says the wizard is trying to conjure terror in the mount. Which maybe hints at a different intent. But rules as written yes is can be resisted with any of the riders remaining will. Unlike spells that specifically say they target the mount like black dart.
4:15 Did the wildriders really not kill the knights on the charge? 16 attacks hitting on 3s wounding on 2s with ap1 + stags with str 4 attacks. Must have been some good save rolls.
I have a feeling that Old World's meta is going to be dominated by monsters and large centerpiece models so GW can make bank on selling them 😄 Thanks for the vid. Better luck next time, tomb kings
Thanks! I’ve got 2 necro sphinx’s on the way and my bone dragon all built up for my 2k list. I agree with what you said, blocks of infantry with characters to support the grind. As your monsters/monster mounted hero’s vie for domination over eachother, Then the victors of the monsters mash will come in and help break/ clean up the enemy blocks. Very excited to run the TK constructs.
When falling back in good order, you roll 2D6 and just move the highest, not both added together. When you flee as a charge reaction, you are fleeing fully, it is not a fall back in good order under any circumstance. You must be thinking of panic, or perhaps the Feigned Flight special rule, which goblins do not have.
Thanks for explaining, looking back on it now I definitely think it was panic I was getting mixed up. Will definitely keep it in mind for future games. How are you enjoying the new edition?
What you said at the beginning resonates with me. Although I moved on from Warhammer some 27 years ago and played ancients (I got married and couldn't afford to spend the money GW was asking for stuff) Warhammer was THE game for me from the age of 17 till 30. I am going to be buying a lot of the old figures as and when they come out, but Dwarves will be my focus. I still have my all metal Throne of Power from back then. Good luck with the project. Subbed.👍👍😉
I literally just did the same thing. Think im gna finish one of my empire armies first as its so close to being done. Where did you get ur extenderbase things
These look great, thanks for the inspiration. Are the plastic elves that come in the warriors of the last alliance box okay to use as dismounts for the riv knights? I will add shields to them, and if so should I use the ones with the bows of the two-handed swords?
Yeah, I’d recommend putting down bowmen as dismounts. As they have both bows and hand 1/2 weapons. The knights can keep both when dismounted, they only loose the lance. Also if you green stuff press mould the shields that are on the knights you can put them on your dismounts as well so you can get the shielding bonus.
Do enjoy seeing Smaug on the table, especially when it’s not against me. 😂 However, don’t fall into the trap of most Smaug players. Smaug does NOT get an extra dice on the charge. He only ever rolls 4 dice.
