For this style, I used the Doux Cream and the Taliah Waajid Curl Definer. Check out our “Wash Day Recaps” Playlist to see the other products I use! Thanks for watching!
I really love this I use to try to preserve my stretched styles by not wetting it in turn not detangling my hair so doing a twaid out on dry hair with just a lil product on my ends 😭 n the moisture deprivation as a low porosity girl made it self aware to me like 1 year or so later n it was so bad i was like why does my hair feel like this 😭
Thank you! Yes, I’m staying away from protein/strengthening deep conditioners. Protein in my stylers is fine. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Hello dear, a quick suggestion, I think you may try to show how you achieve your style, I mean video the process that way you will be getting more views on your video, even if you can't record the whole process at least your twist out or braid out. It would boost your channel more.
Hey there, thanks for the suggestion! If you’d like to see some videos of when I style, check out the Hair Updates & Styling Tutorials playlist on our channel. Those are longer videos that show the styling process. I typically like to keep my wash day recaps shorter because I don’t want to prolong wash day with recording if it’s not necessary 😂 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
@@JunandClyde It's not for me because I have watched all your videos and I like your videos even though I don't use any of the products you use but I like your energy, it's for new subscribers
I’m glad to hear that! What do you enjoy about them? Sometimes I hesitate to post them because I’m not sure of the value they add, but then again I think it could be helpful for people to see what products I pair together and how the style lasts after a few days. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
@@JunandClyde I just feel more apart of your natural hair journey, and it also makes me excited & present for and during my wash days hearing what went well and didn’t go well on yours.
Oh wow, that’s awesome! I’m glad you find them valuable! It’s definitely nice to keep track of what I’ve been using so that it tells a holistic story of my journey. I feel like it’s so easy for hair content to be just the highlights or lowlights, but it’s also about the consistency. Thanks again!
Good idea to make a reject concoction out of those products that just don't do a thing for you on its own. In this journey one can easily become a product junky, and I am tired of feeling crappy about how much money I waste. I've seen your recommendation for this cream a number of times, and I'm finally going to put the money out to buy it. But I am determined to make it my last product purchase for at least 3 months so that most of my products be done. LOL, you sold me on "shaken but not stirred". Even if I don't get the same bounce, I just have to try it for the curl and moisture which is ongoing challenge.
Yes, I don’t like wasting product either especially when it’s too late or used to return. Most things can detangle when paired with some olive oil so this method has helped me get through stuff I didn’t like lol If you get the cream, let me know what you think! I think it performs best for moisture. It doesn’t do much for hold or definition, but I have found that my hair feels nice and soft when I use this. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Your hair looks so good!!! So funny, I used that NLS Coconut DC on Saturday and I ended up putting the Mixed Fruit on top bc after a initially applying, it didn't feel good. I like the Coconut too but think my hair just didnt need it.
Thank you! I was really pleased with the result despite the unexpected obstacles lol I’ve been hearing about the Mixed Fruit one more lately! Maybe I’ll give it another shot. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Thiss! I have a signature style i love but i just tried cornrowing a small part of the front of my hair (inspred by melanin miche latest video on a styled washn go) when doing my twaid routine n i love it ! def in the arsenal of ways i like to style my hair, I don’t like my hair in my face so it creates a hair band effect without pins or a hair band n its just so cute 😌!
Ohh same! By day 4 minitwists are a wrap for me! The idea of me having to re do twists when I spent 4 to 6 hrs putting the whole set in just pisses me off😂😂 I'll stay putting my hair in plaited space buns and do single buns in between for variety.
Exactly. Not just trying different styles, but keeping track of how you feel to in them, how long they take to achieve, how they age, product availability, etc. Excellent video!👏 thank you
Stretching question : I have the revair which I use for just blowing out my hair monthly but im a twaid out girl so I while i wanna maybe try this method of stretching at what point should I do it like when my hair is a 50% dry in the braids or less dry or more dry ? Its all abt the ends when it comes to a twaid out so I’m especially concerned with that in mind but I’m willing to try it because I end up stretching my hair throughout the week with my little blow dryer (halfricanbeaute who is now isimeme ideko blowdryer if ykyk) because it stretches it but then shrinks back a bit later on/the next day i think because the hair dried at that level of shrinkage it had when I took out the braids if that makes sense 😭
I went through this too! Check out my video on “How I Use the Revair to Stretch Twists”. It’s in the All Natural Hair Content Playlist and I show my process. I usually let my hair air dry a bit until there’s no more white and it feels lightly damp. You can reinforce your ends with a little gel when styling so that way they’re harder before you stretch. Honestly if my ends stretch out, I just add a touch of mousse to make them bounce back, but I definitely say give it a try with the Revair. It’s the best!
Yeah that Indulge deep conditioner is truly amazing, but this experience definitely makes me not want to explore with any of their other products lol. We’ll see about Black Friday, but I notice shipping can lag at times plus they haven’t restocked 16oz in a whiiiiiiiile
I had SUCH hight hopes for these 😭 I love the Indulge Deep Conditioner so much so it’s a bummer that these just didn’t work for me. Felt like an oil water mixture lol. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
How did you like their mousse and what NLS cream is your favorite? I had the Irish Moss cream before and decided to give it away because it didn’t feel moisturizing to me. I think I had protein overload at the time, so that was probably a big factor in my impression. I’m considering trying a cream again, but love the Doux so much lol I don’t really see reason to.
Girrrrrllll it really caught me off guard lol I was really tight. I almost didn’t continue filming because I was so disappointed with the results. I have the quenched buttercream so we’ll see how that does, but I honestly think I’ll just use it as a back up for traveling
The shape (cut) of your hair was beautiful throughout the whole journey. Do regular stylist know how to shape curl styles to do I need find atrial hair specialist.
Thank you! I don’t know what to attribute my shape to as I never had it cut or shaped in a curly state. I get it trimmed while straight, but it always looks so good when curly. I go to natural hair stylists and they help me to maintain my shape.
Help me out - what is the difference in this cut and the previous ones? Weren’t they all blow dried or did she flat iron first this time? Last, did she just TRIM or did she SHAPE, because a trim doesn’t give shape.
The difference is that I typically get trims on solely blow dried hair. This trim was on blow dried hair with one pass of the flat iron. She trimmed my hair, which already has a shape, so it just accentuated it. Technically it was a cut because I got about 2 inches taken off. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 🥰
Looks good. Just an FYI split ends are 4x as common with blunt haircuts than tapered since all your ends are at the same length. Maybe try getting it tapered ever so slightly.
Your hair looks great!! I normally do blow dried trims... now you got me thinking. Lol. I have the Papaya line... the deep condish is ok... Mixed Fruit is still my fav of all of the conditioners. I didn't feel like the Papaya had as much slip on my hair as the Mixed Fruit so after my first use of the Papaya, I started mixing it with my Mixed Fruit (until the Papaya is used up). I do like the Papaya shampoo and cream a lot though.
Thanks! It feels good to have some fresh ends. I think the deep conditioner is good, but still doesn’t out perform the miche indulge, so I’ll be mixing it with something too lol. I’m going to add it to the coconut strengthening conditioner. Do you like the Papaya Cream more than the Irish Moss?
@JunandClyde I have yet to try anything from Miche. I'm late to the party. You know... I was surprised today to realize that I think I do like the Papaya cream better than the Irish Moss. I washed my hair today and used the Papaya. But I think I need to use the Irish Moss again in the same way to compare. At the moment, I think the Papaya had a bit more hold and shine and is not as "heavy". Jury's still out but I'mma see. Lol. I gotta be sure-sure.
Not sure what timezone you’re in but here’s a 15% off code for Miche that expires today: LX-OGRHIW. Give the Indulge Deep Conditioner a try and lmk what you think. It has outperformed all other moisturizing (protein free) deep conditioners I’ve used. I keep going back to it. Shower is a slip and slide after using it lol but it’s worth the risk 🤣
@JunandClyde update... got my order and used it today. I loved the ingredients, but I didn't love using it on my hair. The consistency was pretty "loose" (if I tilt the container it would pour out) which, as I applied it, felt like I needed to use more to really coat my hair. I used 2/3 of the container. I prefer thicker texture comditioners which feel like they coat my hair better. I used the last 1/3 to detangle my sister's hair as a pre-poo (her hair texture is looser than mine). Overall, it wasn't bad... I did end up using some of my NLS deep condish with it to help with slip and detangling especially on my tighter/coiler sections. It's not one that I'd repurchase though.
Definitely let me know how it goes! This showed way more damage than my stylist was able to see in a blow dried state. I can go back to blow dried trims if I want now that my ends are healthy, but prefer the exactness of the trim I got on straight hair. It’s amazing and I still maintained my shape when in a curly state.
Thanks! I used a different product (Curl Definer from my last video) this time, but my ends curl so much better now. Definitely defined to the very tip

That side part is givingg ❤ !! I've always been scared of middle parts becaused it just looked like I got weird bangs when my hair shrinked 😂 ! But you encouraged me to try it again this washday, my hair got longer and is freshly trimmed so it might actually look good this time !
It's so good! I’m really enjoying it! I used to really enjoy the Curly Curl Cream as well, but felt it was a bit on the thick side, so this Curl Definer is a great alternative! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! 🫶🏾
It’s funny because I used it and wasn’t a fan! Lol I prefer my deep conditioners not to have silicone so that was a big reason I didn’t like it. I could feel the silicone sitting on my strands. Thanks for the recommendation and leaving a comment 🫶🏾💞🥹
Oh shoot! Then maybe I did try something different or just thought it had silicone. Is it the one in the grey/white packaging? Because I tried that one and the rosemary mint and didn’t like either of them
