Hahaha boa! Acompanho todas as principais regiões há um tempo já então é muito bom ver esses detalhes na animação. Como a música não teve muitos detalhes a serem analisados (do ponto guitarrístico principalmente), acabei não abordando muito esse tema hahaha.
Man, it’s quite common to see teachers with extensive knowledge of music or the instrument, but aren’t all that great players. So even if what you said were true, there wouldn’t be a problem with that. HOWEVER, Tomo is far from that. The guy is a funk/blues machine, with insane personality and precision on his playing.
Fui ao show de São Paulo e achei coerente com a proposta, que foi realizar uma tour comemorativa de 35 anos de carreira. Seria legal se o Alírio tivesse cantado mais, mas aí o show seria muito voltado ao Angra. O que achei legal foi ele ter tocado 4 músicas do Open Source, lançado em 2020 e que, devido àquele problema mundial, ele não pôde tocar as músicas do álbum, exceto em algumas clínicas de guitarra que ele fez na Europa.
Fala, Alex! Cara, é um caminho né. A decisão que ele tomou, ao meu ver, foi entregar menos o que o público tava lá querendo ver pra ter essa “coerência” artística. Agora sobre a esse problema mundial do Open Source: do que se trata? Não estou por dentro…

i dont believe any of this... How can a teacher remember a random ass student many years later who was there for 6 months? And taking credit for him dropping out... really? Strange kind of teacher at a college..
John Mayer is not a "random ass student" and also this all happened in just a couple years. The video explains they had a close relationship as many great people have had with their own mentors. Berklee is not a lecture hall with 1000 students.
Funny you should say that, i actually studied guitar at Berklee for 4 years. There seems to be a lot of distrust of other guitar department faculty to Tomos John Mayer project

Great stuff! It’s cool how John didn’t rest on his laurels after winning Grammys, but he went back to his roots, the blues. He could’ve just settled for being a solid guitar player and good songwriter, but he took a chance with the Trio, and it elevated him as a musician.
