This was a great panel, thank you to everyone involved! For the past 4 years, I've been a regulatory coordinator for oncology trials, and I can definitely agree that it is a BEAST for sure! This discussion really opened my eyes and helped me understand a lot, thank you!
What a great session! I resonate with the information that was shared. I am proud to learn how Mary is growing in her career. We were colleagues at PRA on the Merck program. I created and led the SME TEAM for the CTC role. Mary was one of my lead subject matter experts. I have transitioned from a people manager to a Clinical Team Manager working for PPD (now a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific). I am glad I made the change as I wanted the experience of managing the clinical portion of trials and working with CRAs. I have enjoyed my journey in the clinical industry starting as an administrative assistant, moving to a CTA/CTC, then people manager to now a Clinical Team Manager. Not a normal career progression; however, I am getting the experience to become well rounded in whatever I choose to do next in my career. Not sure what that is yet. 😊 Keep up the great work Ladies! It’s great to learn of the different experiences. ❤
@cindyholoman2050 Thank you so much for your feedback. We are happy that you enjoyed the session. Truly your career experience has been quite a growth journey. Keep soaring!!
As a veteran research monitor being in multiple organizations is nit the key. Experience in multiple specialities to develope the area you wish to master will grant you success. Good luck to you
This platform is absolutely amazing! I’m a newbie here and new to research (1year) I’m so thankful I found this channel. Unfortunately I’m to late to register for this years conference but I’m hopeful that there will be more to come in the near future. I can’t wait to make connections and build great relationships. Thank you beautiful BW for investing your time and knowledge to help others advance and I hope to someday be an olive branch for others as well.
This was great! The biggest mistake I made starting out was giving the impression that I was always available. I was stretched thin until I learned to balance.
Do you know if there is a training program available for the clinical scientist role? I m a PharmD and already working in Pharma under PV development, but now looking to change roles to Clinical Scientist
This is a very enlightening session. I am a CPA and currently work for a Sponsor of Clinical Trials specializing in Clinical Trials Accounting. It's so awesome to see Black Women in this space even if from a different aspect of the field. I'm very encouraged! Thanks for conducting this. I'd be interested in a follow up session from the Sponsor perspective. 😃
Hi Ashley, Thank you for your feedback! That is a wonderful idea that we will look into for implementation. You can also join us to become a BWICR member and have direct access to these sessions live. Please send an email to info@bwicr.com for details on how to go about this.
Hi Natalie! How's it going with implementing this workflow? We definitely do not want The Flintstones running the show. You can join us today and hear from fellow professionals on how they keep things smooth flowing. Email us at info@bwicr.com and we'll guide on the next steps.
Over 9 years I’ve done Data, clinic and regulatory up into being a supervisor. So, I often worry that companies will feel I am overqualified for a CRA position and under qualified for a CTM position. I’m trying to find the sweet spot to break into.
Thank you for this video, it was very informative and helpful! I love that Parexel, a company I have always admired, is actively looking for black researchers and cares about representation, it means a lot to me as a black researcher myself. I hope that one day I get the opportunity to utilize my skills towards the betterment of Parexel. Great job ladies
Hi Whitney, thank you for the great feedback! You can join BWICR today and connect with fellow black researchers in the industry. Simply send us an email at info@bwicr.com to get started :)
As a CRA with an Investigator currently at MD Anderson and covered a visit previously at Baltimore VA, I AGREE! CRCs are my go-to PERIOD. They are the heart, backbone, hands, and feet off the study at the clinical trial site. PI’s would be LOST without their CRC. Thank you ladies for your amazing work and sharing your journeys with us!
Period! Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We'd love for you to join us and network with fellow professionals in the industry. Email us at info@bwicr.com
I just recently joined BWICR on LI and FB; and this RU-vid video was linked to the LI group. Excellent insights into Clinical Research. Thank you ladies for sharing -- info, your knowledge, your experiences, and your perspectives. I feel blessed y'all are here to guide and contribute to the future of diversifying clinical research.
It sounds like she's Loki advocating for the vaccine I didn't take it and will never take it because of the history government-sponsored drugs later being recalled with serious health effects and simply because they're acting like the vaccine is the cure-all which it isn't it doesn't stop you from catching covid or transmitting covid or even dying from covid fully vaccinated and plus I know for a fact the elites already have a cure never listen to their words always watch their actions
You ladies are great, you gave more insight to clinical research and how to be a clinical research. I'm glad that I watch this video. Glad to join BWICR and looking forward to be an active member like you all.
