I've watched this restoration and am so humbled by the artistry and love to this instrument. That elevated this YAHAMA to priceless ! For my birthday in 1975 I received a YAHAMA 12string. I still cherish and daily play it among others. Your heirloom will have an amazing story to be told
The sg by its very design is ridiculously weak yet its also the most expressive electric that ive played. Les paul now just feels thick and heavy and i mean that note wise, no wonder frank zappa originally played one,
I love you craftsmanship. It would be nice to have some narration with how the instrument was burned, how you are going to employ some techniques for repair and why. You skill is obvious and beautiful.
Love the repair. You are the most skilled luthiers I have seen on RU-vid. I think the pick guard on this guitar should be weathered a bit to look the age of the guitar. The polished look seems out of place.
I hope this series helps to reduce the general impression of "reduce" quality from Asian builders. I do understand there can be quality control issues, but they are in every factory around the world if you look hard enough for it. But this series is just one example of one Luthier's skills and dedication to the craft. Super happy you could revive that L-55. Thanks for sharing!
i have seen every type of headstock repair and this is the one that actually makes sense and less complicated than any other repair other than just gluing and that is not a repair but just a cheap bandaid , you sir are amazing and your color matching is 2nd to none
