We are the Order of the Traveling Hats. What is the Order? Good question, we are a group of friends that feel that life is to short to let it pass us by. We are traveling to new parts of the world and experiencing new things in life. We want to show you how to do the same. We invite you to come with us on our adventures.
No. They never did that. However the app and the color controller never did work as well as I wanted them to and I ended up pulling the fuse for that. They work as normal headlights with out the controller. Thanks for watching hope it was helpful.
Yes. I ran larger wires due to the length of the run. You can look up references for that on line in multiple locations. I don’t have the exact reference in front of me.
Sadly I ve own that model and it's a peace of ship . Brakes easy. Roll over and the side without spring clips will collapse . The side with spring clips those well brake .
Here the issues 1) The plastic well brake on part that lock is place 2) the side that does not have lock will fold under you if you roll over. . I had 2 and return both of them because they broke . Dont buy them.
I that sucks. I’ve had the HD version for about two years now. It’s a little bit wider and also taller. I’m a big guy (6’3” and about 250lbs) I fit on the HD and it’s been solid so far but I admit I have had concerns about the amount of plastic in the setup.
Great video. Thanks for posting. I've had mine for almost 2 years and its good, but tricky now only because of the plastic GX rear upper wing. Wish the pins didnt rust out and get all misaligned with the holes either. Had to replace adhesive a few times but overall best GX ladder right now.
Yes. Hopefully this will help some folks out there decide if this is the right product for them. If they should order from NashFabCo (they should as they seem to make a fine product) and finally is this something you can do at home or not depending on your comfort level. I hope that you got something out of this, thanks for watching.
Yeah I think that’s in the future for sure. Building this is different than the jeeps I’ve had in the past and the lift is no different. It will be latter in the build this time. Thanks for watching!!!
Dumb question - are the side rails the same length? I just purchased this kit and the side rails are different lengths which means the latches are offset too. Bestop customer service is trying to tell me this is normal when logic tells me otherwise for how this is supposed to fit and function.
I just ordered the Wouxun KG1000G PLUS on 2/2/24 from myGMRS and can’t wait to receive it! I was really surprised how easy the Wouxun software ‘is’ …and, how much like CHIRP it is as well. The only downside, imo, to the WOUXUN software is that you have to have the software pertinent to the particular radio, whereas, with CHIRP you can use its software for many radios of your choice. But, that’s definitely not a game changer to me. I’m currently running a BTECH 50-VR as a base and it’s been working flawlessly here in the extreme north side of Houston,Tx using a nonground fiberglass 17” antenna mounted on a 20’ pole and am able to connect with all the repeaters around me…and, it’s so nice they’re all linked to pretty much everywhere in the country practically! In addition to the base radio I have two Baofeng HTs I started out with (UV-5R and UV-9G…which are useless to me unless I hook my base radio antenna to them and that can become a pain!). I also have the Inrico T-320 network radio and DV SWITCH on my phone (both using the Texas GMRS node 1000 and the Louisiana Roadkill node 50132) But, as you know, as a radio operator we’re never happy with what we have and just ‘have’ to upgrade to a bigger, better, and, a more badass radio! 😂. Nice video! Sorry for being long winded, but, I didn’t even get started on why I bought and like the new WOUXUN radio! 73s! So I try to use the cruise when on the highway. I set it at the speed limit so usually 70-75. I was running 35x10.50 kanda klever RT tires when I made this video.
I moved from PA to TX so I need to add the local GMRS Repeaters to my KG-1000G. Unfortunately my Parallels subscription ran out, will have to renew. Curious if it is possible to add a Repeater directly through the face plate, without using the software? I guess I should Google for an answer. But I see you also have a JLUR with the overhead radio bar, so thought I’d ask.
Great video. Im gonna look into these this spring for my Rubicon. Is the ones you got the Black Twill or Black Dimond version? I see theres 2 different options. 1 looks heavier than the other. Thanks.
@@mattman2567 I used the Black Twill, it is a heavier material for sure. The Black Diamond looks a little like pleather while the Black Twill looks and feels premium..
The repeaters are on a set frequency and the pulse codes which ever format are listed. If not on mygmrs then on the local GMRS community web site. In this case the Arkansas GMRS community.
I did have issues with the app. I eventually just stopped using it all together. I was less interested I. The RGB function and more interested in upgrading from the horrible factory halogens.
The roof rack looks good. I wanted to point out something I seen, the weather stripping on the front and back. Look into getting some clear vinyl to go on the GX wind and vibration will cause scratches over time.
Yes you are correct. I have ordered some 3M clear body panel protection film for these areas just for that. I did not have it at the time of install. Thanks for pointing that out and thanks for taking the time to watch.
I used to do the same thing, if it wasn't a major outing (overnight, all day long hike, etc) I wouldn't go anywhere. Then the weeks start going by having done nothing thinking of all the wasted time. Now, like you said, even if it's jumping in the Gladiator for some unplanned half a day exploration (and doesn't even have to be offroad), a short hike close to home, a quick ride on the fat tire e-bike.......not everything has to be a grand expedition. And some of those impromptu outings turn out to be some of the best. There's just too much to enjoy and too little time to sit around waiting for the perfect time or place, you just need to get out. Also, I mentioned before about not being happy with my Gladiator with lots of little issues like you and considering a 1-2 yr old GX as well. 7,500 miles and had my first bout of death wobble on the highway a few days ago. Another thing to add to the list and have never been so disappointed in a brand new vehicle. Problem now is they're heavily discounting new Gladiators and trade in/resale values have really tanked.
I had that concern as well, but I have had zero issues from that. The feet actually spread the weight around effectively. I can't say it wouldn't happen, but it hasn't happened to me, and I've been using the cot regularly.
@orderofthetravelinghats236 thanks for sharing. I'll make sure to use a ground sheet no matter what when using my cot. Hopefully that will help too. I loved having a cot on my last trip and I'll want to keep using mine for canoe trips and the such.
