This is a channel and a blog devoted to fountain pens, inks, and associated whatnots. For a non-video look at all of these inks and pens, check out www.inkdependence.com!
The little one? That's an OPUS88 from Endless Pens that I did a video for a while ago: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M_88wTYGZ1I.html
Wuthering Heights was such a depressing novel that I don’t think I’d want to be reminded of it every time I used an ink, no matter how nice it was. Thanks for the review but it’s not for me.
Wearingeul has my number with these literature themed inks. I agree with you though, this one's a little under saturated. Maybe not the best for taking notes, but I think it would be nice for a little light journaling or letter writing.
I like the literature ones, too, though I mostly don't get the colors they choose. I know some folks love the low-saturation inks, but they're rarely ones that I'll use often. This one is okay in the right nib, though.
The color reminded me at first of heather (of which I have little or no experience) as one might find it on the moors. I guess Heathcliff could have written Cathy a letter that reminded her of the moors that she loved so much, using this ink. Or not.
That Oparex stuns me. I love opals. Even if you knew the book, you’d have a hard time coming up with a funny title. It is a Great Book, but dark and gothic, Romantic and disturbing. While this ink doesn’t really capture the darkness in the novel, I think it does evoke the windiness of the wuthering. It’s surprising how much of your state of mind you can tease out from this card. Maybe the CIA should expand its hand-writing analysis to include ink swatches. Be careful, Mike: you might be inadvertently revealing all kinds of secrets in your reviews. I like the WH, but I’m with you: the Faceless Lady is a more satisfying ink.
I’ve always loved burgundy inks a whole lot. I have a handful that I’ll always love, use and re-buy. I had never even heard of the brand that you talked about here. The burgundy that you reviewed here is fantastic - and I’m going to search for and buy it. And look for a green and a brown, too. Btw, the Sailor and Lamy pens were a major distraction. Both are extremely stylish and desirable. I wish I had them myself. I’d certainly buy both if I saw them anywhere for sale.
This ink line has me in its teeth. I have a bunch and they're just all so good. They all do something interesting visually except Salon de Violet which allegedly sheens but I haven't seen it. Its interesting trick is lasting for weeks in my finickiest pen with no trouble at all. And I'm not usually a box keeper but they all look so nice that I am doing that. I used to make fun of FWP fans for being so impressed by packaging and I guess I have to stop now that an ink sure has my number.
I'm a huge fan of Teranishi inks, night time soda and nostalgic honey are my current favorites but I have every intention of buying one of every color they make. I also got one of their glass dip pens recently, it has a very small sweet spot, but when you find it, it writes beautifully.
@@mattsadventureswithart5764 I think I’m at about 14 Diamine inks but I’ve only got 4 full size bottles. They make so many nice colors, it’s hard to not want to collect them all lol
Nice review (o: Guitar is quite far ahead of the bunch as my favourite ink brand; I love them so - my favourite they make is Lady Emerald - which one is yours?
It might be Lady Emerald, too. I haven't used all of the ones I have yet, though, so I can't say for sure. Antique Black is great, as is this Classy Burgundy. I'm bad at picking a favorite!
Cool! I’ve been eyeing her stamps for ages but never pulled the trigger on the wood blocked ones. I will say, the clingy stamps are easier to store, but the wood ones are easier to find. 😂
Love the cat signing the song of his people! He’s a lot quieter than when my dog sings the song of his people 😂. Thanks for being so generous and doing a giveaway ❤
Really nice inks. I just ordered three more bottles of Sailor Shikiori inks : Kasasagi, Kazakiribane and Suberakashi. I’m see-sawing about getting the Tuzu. I don’t even remotely need another pen right now, after just spending a heap buying another Stipula and a Tibaldi in early June. But I might just buy the Tuzu anyway. The green or the grey. I wish they offered a steel music nib.
I have to get the buggy stamp washi. Not because I *want* it, of course, but just to support Ana. You should get Ana to make a Nose and Lambchop stamp. Maybe a “Triumphant Nose jumping quickly and fiercely over the zoned-out waxy Lambchop.” Those are great stamps. I ordered some of those sets already, so I won’t be entering the give-away, but whoever wins those should be psyched. Ana is amazing.
Gloo is my favorite glue stick. It comes in different types. " permanent" repositionable ect. I really like the Tuzu . I bought the Green one in a fine nib. It works reliably and gives you the sailor nib at a moe affortable price then most of there other options. I hold my pen in a traditional way so I havent tried to adjust it. I dont need anymore ink but I really really like that top one you swatched. I dont think I have anything like it in my collection.
Your discount has made the difference on a couple recent purchases I made. Especially on a more-expensive-than-a-Tuzu type pen, your code can bring the price down to a justifiable amount. And I do like Atlas’ cards. I may have to use my collection to make a Sugar-Turtle style journal. I have nine Lamys (Lammies?) inked up with Van Dieman’s Solar Systems inks. The great thing about Lamy nibs is that they’re affordable and so easy to swap out without having to worry about the ink in the chamber. “Use only for writing purposes”: other options - plant stake; swapping secret messages with spies (TR paper is thin enough to slide a folded note up in the barrel around the converter. One’s contact would merely have to ask to borrow one’s pen, “forget” to return it, and slip it into her/his/other pronoun of choice pocket); squirting (if one happens to be Cslvin) Susie Perkins with ink as a grade-school sign of affection; tattooing; assassinations (best with F or EF nibs); a VERY small flask of brandy; chew/teething toy; fidget toy (I think the original Lammies [Lamys?] were intended to be taken apart and reassembled by bored school children, and the Tuzu’s adjustability offers all sorts of spinning fun); stir stick; hair ornament; tourniquet tightener… Isn’t one of the selling points of the Tuzu is that it’s made out of recycled plastics? There are inks I’d like to get, but I’m worried about what the heat might do to it. We sucked the “honey” out of honeysuckle flowers, too. I like those inks. The video didn’t feel long to me. That was a great haul. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Hi Mike, what is the name of the Sailor 1911 Large you showed and who sells it, sorry but I didn't quite understand the things you said, and the Wearingeul ink that Audrey showed with the Opus 88? (I follow you from Italy and my English is not very good). Giovanni
The Sailor is called “Cthulhu” and it’s an exclusive that is coming to Goldspot Pens on July 9th. The ink is a Wearingeul from the same place called “Call of the Cthulhu.”
I've learned so many valuable cooking tips from your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I was wondering if you could share a video of you cooking with KHAL
I didn’t know there was a knife that shoots knives. Scary. That’s a spiffy, sophisticated knife with a sleek silhouette. One might even say it’s sharp looking. Nice collection! It was cool to see them like that and get a sense of sizes and styles.
Ugh. That sucks. That kind of restriction would eliminate all but a few of my pocket knives, and those are the ones I never carry because they’re too inconvenient. 😬 Well, that’s not true. I have a few that couldn’t reasonably be considered “gravity knives” that I really like. The Chef, for example.
