Im the executor of the will and myself and my brother are the only named on my mothers will. There is 90k cash, and a house, which we plan on keeping for now. Im in receipt of 2 means tested UC benefits and the cash will push me quite a bit over my savings allowance. When the probate is finalised can i choose to give the cash from the will to my brother and just have the house as my new residence? When the bank accounts are payed out how is that normally done? Cheque, cash, bank transfer?

My father died intestate, he was estanged from the family for decades. Probate solicitors have called me about 10 times in the last 2 months and sent 2 vague letters, so I assume there is likely to be a modest estate. Is this pack suitable for me please?

I'm the executor of my uncles will, he used a will company and paid them a thousand pounds for them to help with the probate after his death. They've done absolutely nothing to help me and I've never had to do probate before so I'm clueless. Nobody teaches you this stuff and it's frustrating and scary. My uncle died with lots of debt but his estate will more than cover the debt, does this make it a complex probate? I'm going to have to do this myself but I don't want to get into trouble. I'm disabled and on benefits so I can't afford any mistakes.
