I don't have experience with the Falken, but I think the Maxxis pace is similar to regular 200tw. Less grip than super 200 tw (like RE71R). Faster than Hankook RS4. Wear is ok. Not great in rain.
P&L equal length catted header into JDL ultra quiet midpipe, the catback is a legsport "race" catback that I had imported from Japan during COVID, with an additional varex electric muffler inline. You can run it dead quiet for the street or in "loud" trim which is what you are hearing in the video. Even loud mode is not truly that loud, but I am old.
The BRZ is good for this course, but by this point I had begun to modify the car for HPDE circuit course use, and ultimately it hurt the performance on "autocross" type courses like this one. So, it was still good but if you dialed it in more for this it would be much better than what you see in the video. Either way, a day driving is always fun.
@@scottr999100 Thanks - I was trying to pick something that wouldn't be too much for the street. They occasionally pop up used on ebay, that's where I got mine.
Thanks! It's a fun track. There's definitely a few more seconds that could be taken off this laptime, but we had a good time out there. Hope to see you at Pocono.
be0tchx Thanks, if all goes well I'll be ending the season at NJMP in October I believe the dates 12th to the 14th I might get on the track at NJMP in September, I don't know if I wanna participate with hook on driving, SCCA track night in America both have upcoming events there.
Hey! That was a blast. Hope the rest of your day was fun. You are heavily featured in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-42hMI-HZLjM.html
I actually almost went off right there too! Luckily I let off the gas just enough and just got to the edge of the track. I saw several cars go off there.
Run group 2. I spent most of the day fixing a troublesome and reoccurring boost leak, though. So unless you were under the hood of my car you might not have seen me :P
It got a lot icier there than I thought and I couldn't get out of the understeer that I had created. I tried to rotate with some gas, to lift, to trail brake, everything just lead to going off there. I should have turned in before the ice patch to get the car facing the left.
He was a lot better at driving. Somewhere in the longer video, I am following his line trying to learn something, and literally on the same line as him, I get stuck in the snow. Same cars same tires, same everything. A little humbling.
Sick! I can't wait for my turn on the track in a couple weeks! I'm hoping there's enough snow on the ground from Tuesday's storm to last until Saturday!
I hope to do this some day, been on several tracks but all in the US. Nurburgring would be glorious. You did great especially for first time in car on a new track.
e5mikey Thanks for the kind words. I found the trip surprisingly affordable, I'd say get out there at some point when you have the chance. The area surrounding the track is quite scenic and the people were all quite friendly.
