WOAH woah woah guys!!!! Please someone check me back!! The only thing that's been to space is your imagination!!! The "SCAM SHUTTLE" is a glorified hot air balloon.

They just launch parts into space and hope and prey they connect? Or were there astronauts with big wrenches floating around all over the place? Stop fucking lying

NASA had an attitude to the when it came to how many flights they could fly a year being like it was the Titanic with so few lifeboats

I hope now NASA never gets stupid again about the very idea of launching a space ship with people on board to fuel a commercial Satellite versus it being done remotely or a private spacecraft going up and doing it. And also I hope in a lot of people hope NASA never launches a reusable spacecraft with large satellites again with the expectation NASA had in the 70s and in the early to mid 80s

I think Paul Scully-Power should not have been on this mission. An nasa mission specialist should have been on there. I think history will prove the only payroll specialist astronauts that should have flown on the shuttles before Challenger where foreign astronauts. Some of these poor astronauts had to wait so long to make one trip in the space.

I think history will show these things about the space shuttle program first of all, before challenger, no ejection seats, second overrliance commercial satellites, 3 flying a private sector people to do experiments instead of the astronauts themselves doing it I think history will prove that the payload specials that flew on the shuttle were the foreign astronauts who flew in the early days. 4th this great nation giving up on skylab for this largely shit shuttle program. I think the space shuttle also proved the it's good not to put all your eggs in one basket. Not to build a spaceship for several multi purposes. Anyways NASA should have had two or three more missions to Skylab to make sure that the thing could have been maintained when the first shuttle flew .

I think the dumbest thing about this mission was Charles Walker being on board to conduct the commercial experiment he did instead of it being done by most of the crew.
@davidbrandt-erichsen1608
@davidbrandt-erichsen1608 17 дней назад
On the contrary, Charles Walker was very smart. He designed an experiment that was so complex that he was the only one who could do it. It made him the first industrial astronaut.

The crew of STS-42 included Roberta Bondar, the first Canadian woman in space. Mary Cleave was assigned to this mission but withdrew herself due to personal reasons. She was replaced by Manley "Sonny" Carter. However, Carter was killed in a plane crash on April 5, 1991, seven months prior to the launch. David Hilmers was then chosen to replace Carter.

Good interview i find it annoying that SpaceX and Blue Origin often get mentioned together as if they are similar categorised as new space when that is not actually true. While both are private companies i would put blue origin into the old space category. The blue moon HLS lander was a dead ringer for the Apollo lander and BO even collaborated with old space companies Lockheed martin and Northrop Grumman in the HLS competition who proposed an Apollo like lander with expendable transfer element , expendable descent element and wanted near 6 billion for a lander only big enough for 2 people and not much bigger than Apollo. It was effectively an Apollo replay. Thankfully they lost the HLS competition. had they won it would have been a victory for old space and the end of Artemis ever improving on Apollo instead it would have repeated Apollo complete with being cancelled because of the staggering cost for an underwhelming result - it would have been cancelled even faster than Apollo. National Teams partner included Lockheed who make the Orion capsule which has earned them over 20 billion USD and will land them many billions more under the terms of the Orion's cost plus contract BO's HLS lander clearly fills a roll that will always require an earth ascent and return vehicle like Orion and SLS. VS SpaceX winning with starship creates the possibility in future that Artemis could be done with starship's alone and that jeopardises the income stream of the cost plus contracts for SLS and Orion. It was revealed in BO's failed legal challenge over the HLS award to SpaceX. Their legal case document for why Blue Origins National team should have won was the many job's for the boys it would create in the many states across the wide supplier network of the national team's industrial partners base. This is the kind of mindset that the SLS and Constellation advocated to keep the money flowing so as to provide jobs in states for existing contractors who's political reps then promoted the contracts - the self licking ice-cream as Lori calls it. NASA awarding the HLS to SpaceX was reminiscent of Lori's advocating commercial crew in the past rather than than an old space style job program. Blue origin has old space people involved or infiltrating to bring an old space approach. National Team was done to leverage the old space company's Lockheed and Northrop's and ULA's lobby power and friends network to influence NASA and win the HLS contract their proposed HLS was an Apollo dead ringer lander seemingly to invoke the glory of Apollo and the huge cash cow it had previously bought them. Although they failed initially their plan did actually end up working as the BO National team's lobbying power forced NASA into buying their lander as well. The lobby power of the old space is as present as ever like a parasite perfectly evolved to feed on it's host and NASA's budget. It was like history repeating just like in Escaping Gravity where they resurrected Constellation as SLS and Orion. Once again they have pulled off another stunt by forcing NASA to buy a lander that will remain dependent on SLS and Orion it ensures the continuance of the SLS and Orion programs till at least Artemis 5.
