When I was 17 or 19 or something in between, I was in a hardcore band called Bound. Then, one day at a practice in Matt Kelly's grandmother's basement, we decided that we didn't like the name of the band anymore, and we wanted to tinker with the style of hardcore we made. Matt said, "what kind of band do you think we should be?" And I simply said, "CITIZENS ARREST!" Then we started making songs for the Hatchet Face Vol 2 record. 1994, 1995ish. Anyway, still one of my favorite bands across any genre of music.
It's literally more relevant than ever ... from the furious last Clash gig, really. Topper had already been kicked out; Mick was soon to follow; and the internal contradictions were tearing Joe apart.
Came here as a tonic after some twatty far right post inexplicably turned up in my fb feed. Thank the stars for people with actual hearts like Justin and co singing songs like this.
