Joshua, man thank you for posting these videos. It's good to see Donnie Vie back out playing live, and still has his voice. Awesome , Thank You again Joshua.
Don Rock On!!💯🎸🎤💙🎹😎🤘 True King of power pop bc the dude still owns it...another proud fan moment for me and Donnie vie youre a true example tht you can go thru a brutal industry and still be here when so many in this business dont make it...RIP Derek Frigo,..and many more greats!!💯🤘
Sorry, but while others may try, but nobody sings EZN better than Donnie. Sounds like he's still got the pitch and range - is it true he stopped smoking?
I remember a live review in Kerrang decades ago saying that they sent everyone to sleep!! Still, some awesome songs and RIP Derek Frigo GOAT level solos.....
Awesome! I liked this 90's band. What is the conflict between Donnie Vie and Chip ZNUFF about? There should be no conflict. It was a pretty cool 'hair' metal band in a time when the New Seatle (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Sound Garden etc.) were taking over. I personally prefer Atmospheric Gothic Progressive Type Black Metal. peace to all
I'm not an expert on the band so I won't elaborate too much I don't want to be wrong. I know Donnie over the years has had substance abuse issues. I'm not sure about Chip in that way. I know their guitar player during their prime Derek Frigo OD'd. I always loved him because I felt he amplified the band. Donnie loves that Beatles style of songs and I feel Derek's immense talent on guitar made the songs much more Rock n Roll with certain solos and riffs. Also I did hear recently in an interview that Donnie feels Chip is cheapening the band by endlessly playing these small bar and club nickel and dime shows. He would prefer to hold out for more select shows like bigger festivals and larger shows in bigger venues. I think in the interview they cited a band like Honeymoon Suite who does that and is playing bigger shows than they should based on records sold because they didn't diminish the bands brand. That's about all I know. My personal opinion and this is based on just that I have never met either of them but it seems like Chip is a little more easy going than Donnie maybe less ego but I could be totally wrong.
Thanks so much for sharing these awesome vids with us Joshua Decker. Keep them coming please, for all of us who cannot be there to see D.V. perform. Just Wow!
