Take a ride with me and share the journey to see what it feels like to ride a specific year and model of motorcycle the first time.
Based on the year, I will only be filming motorcycles that I have never ridden before. That way, we can experience the ride together. Since it is difficult to get access to motorcycles to ride for the most part all I have is 5 to 10 minutes to prepare for a specific bike before I ride it and will only be able to do so for 20 minutes, so I will have limited time on most bikes but more than enough for me to get a raw first impression.
Learning to ride, new riders, and experienced riders all have a place here. Each of us can learn from each other and can share our questions and experience together.
Personally, I have ridden hundreds of motorcycles, but I really want to see more people riding and would love to share the journey with you!
Did you change camera? Compare your gsxs1000 vid to this for example where you are sitting on the bike. This one and the last few have had a yellow old type look to it. Look at the white on the trailer behind you. its yellowish. Just a thought. Bike: I am sure this is a fun ride but I can't get behind the brand for my cash. I loved my ride on the 890smt honestly, but I just wish that camshaft issue didnt happen or they handled it better. MT-09sp beats this imo but you cant find any in stock and gotta love 20k valve adj. The 765 is amazing too 1000% Guess if you get a new bike every year then it doesn't matter on brand and get what gives you the most fun and what you enjoy the looks of. Probably 40% of the people change bikes frequently until they find the one. Then years later they regret selling it chasing perfection. Like I regret selling my 636 and my gsxr750. Keep them vids coming.
I did add a different camera to the setup and I have been trying to get the settings right but it is a process. Hopefully I can narrow down the issues with the colors and the focus but I will need more time to be able to do so and right now as you know not a lot of free time lately lol. I will keep working with it and get the right balance in the future. I think the MT-09 SP is an amazing bike on paper and I would probably love it since I have ridden a bike with the same engine and found it to be great. I have narrowed down my personally owned bikes down from 8 to 4 now but I regret selling more than a few bikes in my day. Hell I still miss my Ninja 250 and wish I still had it. I have fond memories of all the bikes I've owned over the years. And not many that I wouldn't love to have back. When it comes to the brand issues I am sure they will come out of it ahead at least I hope so because they make some crazy good bikes. And like I said its a connection between rider and machine and its all personal and unique. I love most bikes I've been fortunate to ride and can really only think of a handful I just don't like at all. This bike is now my 2nd favorite bike I've ridden for the channel and I think everyone should try one at the very least. I really want to keep alive my idea of setting up a place to just do demos all day every day. Just so people could come and try any bike they want. I'm pushing forward to hopefully accomplish that goal. The beauty of bikes! I rode the 890smt and didn't hate it but didn't like it that much. Not sure why but it felt very sluggish from side to side for me. But I love to hear others talk about their experiences with a bike and how it made them feel. Appreciate you as always for the feedback and for sharing your experience and thoughts. You know I'm not going to stop!
no I believe the fastest motorcycle in the world was a Kawasaki ZX 10 aka the Tom cat in the UK built from 88 to 91 then the ZX 11 took its place the Ninja handled better and wasn't as big the CBR 1000 was a fatso now the best all around back then was the Yamaha FZR 1000 it would out handled both the ZX and the CBR on the trace at the same time the FZR had the best power to wight ratio back then I owned a 89 ZX10 that I wished I'd never sold I've also own a 87 and 88 FZR 1000 and I believe the 87 was faster then the 88 but both handled way better then the ZX 10 but like the CBR the ZX 10 was a great ride it for miles bike
Flat plane fours sound great but triples sound phenomenal! My favorite 3s, in terms of sound, are the 765 Street Triple, the MT-09 SP and that bad ass 1200 Speed Triple that you are riding!
You must live near a big city, because small town America is perfect for this bike. No highway ride to work for many people in a lot of the US. This is for newbie riders, and one segment of the market so many forget are older riders who want to downsize to something more manageable in their retirement years to extend their ride time.
@MotorcycleDemoRiders i love moto guzzi's. I had a Griso but unfortunately, lost it. I wasn't sure if I wanted to ride again. That itch is getting stronger again to get on the saddle. I want a slower bike, unique, to just enjoy the ride on. Ireally like the thick sidewall tire look on bobbers. Plus, it has ABS which after the accident, I feel I should try it
I used to ride Yamaha...the RD350 and then the 650 Special. I stopped riding until I relocated to SE Asia and started riding the scooters. I built up a 160CC MSX (Grom), own a Suzuki GSX 150 and have now purchased the Speed. This will probably be my last bike.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I've had some experience with riding in that region(Philippines Specifically). This definitely fills all the needs for the region. What was it that really sold you on buying one? Side note as someone that has spent time in the region, you mentioned I am sad we don't get the 150cc variants of bikes. 150cc bikes are so much fun. Slow sure, but for anyone that hasn't ridden in asia, these types of bikes are perfect. Thank you for taking the time to share and I hope you enjoy that speed 400 for years to come. Stay safe
@@MotorcycleDemoRiders Well I still have the Harley Iron 883 Sportster but I plan to trade in for the Trident 660 or the Tiger as I went yesterday to check them both out. The Trident is a perfect fit for me but I need good wind protection living in Northeast USA cuz it's always cold, windy and raining up here and I have some highway commuting needs so the Tiger makes more sense for what I need but the Trident is such a great looker and fits me like a glove and the suspension is so nice so I'm battling between needs and wants right now. I don't believe there is many windshield options for Trident that will be very effective but I may be wrong so I gotta do more research. I basically narrowed it down to Trident 660, Tiger Sport 660 & 900.
For a Rode Bike, how much Suspension do you really need? I hate tall bikes and would never even consider one. These bike manufacturers are cutting out more than half of their possible customers with this Tall Bike Trend. In the US, I believe that the average male is around 5'7" to 5'10" tall. Shouldn't bikes be made to fit the average heith customer?
For a road bike, 3.25 to 4.5" of travel is enough, in my opinion. I'm 5'9, and most of the bikes I've ridden put me on the balls of my feet. It's very rare for me to be flat-footed. It seems most bikes are built for a 32" inseam. Now I can say all the big adv bikes are crazy tall and it is very nice for visibility as I was basically sitting at the height of my truck but touching the ground is toes or one foot only. Which is the proper but it's not for everyone. The big adv craze is at an end in my opinion. They are awesome machines but the height, weight and price are usually all pretty high. The smaller cc and middle weight class are being pushed more now and for good reason.
@@MotorcycleDemoRiders ,I suppose apart from it's gorgeous styling, character,it felt so different to ride compared to the motorcycles I would normally gravitate towards. I originally was convinced the new, honda cb750 hornet was going to be the bike for me,but as nice as it was,it's a bike I would be changing after a couple of years, whereas the guzzi feels like a keeper.
Bike is definitely overpriced. That being said this bike while moving sounds better stock vs the stock indian scout 2025 models, I've rode both. This revmax motor is way torqueier and faster than the new scouts. It is also more stable than the scout sport not the 101 when cornering and at higher speeds also. The brake being single disc sucks for a bike as fast as the sporster s. The price is the killer for this bike though and it's too high for the scouts as well. They need to get back closer to $10k to really do good selling imo.
One of the best bike's ive ever owned ... put forward control's and change the exhaust to a two into one a little remap ... and OMG you have a beast that handles like its on a rail and goes like a rocket and will beat most sports bike's away from the lights ... lol
Appreciate you for sharing your experience with the bike. I felt that this would be better with forward controls, and i hope to get the chance to try one with forwards at some point to see how much of a difference it makes. Engine is solid, and with your upgrades that low down off the line, torque is solid. Again, thanks for sharing. Staying Safe
I have always admired Guzzi, they make and have made some beautiful bikes that are also very soulful. Never owned one, but I would definitely consider if there was a local dealer.
I haven't seen very many on the roads in my life. I always wanted to try one, and I am thankful I finally got the opportunity. Unique experience. Wish the video footage was better, but my chin mount was angled to low, and I just made due with what I had.
Couple Moto Guzzi's I have wanted are the Griso and now the V100. Cool bikes for sure. You would probably want to have a dealer near you if you bought one though. No idea how it is to get parts for em.
I am sorry for the late reply. Started my new job and its keeping me busy. I did get to ride the v100 Mandello S that day. I just haven't been able to edit it yet. I always wanted to try them out and while a bit on the pricey side it is definitely unique and for me it catches my eye. Without question a dealer within range would be preferred!
Had a 2019 and really liked it. It was all matte black. I swear I got more looks on that bike from people than any other bike I've owned. Only got rid of it because the dealer I bought it from (~45 minutes away in Woodstock, IL) stopped carry Guzzi and wouldn't work on them anymore. Left me with 0 options if something went wrong that wasn't simple. It was fairly comfortable, good looking, and had more than enough power for the 55 mph back roads I ride. EDIT: Oh, and it rode sportier than it's looks would make you think. No problems leaning it over and riding aggressive.
It is definitely something to consider with any bike making sure you have a dealer close to handle repairs. I got to try the v9, v7 and the v100 that day. They are unique and have some interesting characteristics. I am sorry its taking me some time to respond to comments with the new job its taking time away from youtube. How is the 450nk doing?
@@MotorcycleDemoRiders So far I still like it. There's a slight headstock wobble I'll have Randy's address at my 3,000 mile service. Other than that, both OEM seats suck, so I've added a gel pad with an empty channel going down the middle. The sound that bike makes though! That is not getting old any time soon.
I'm very glad you found the video helpful and also happy you enjoy it. My favorite part of this is hearing other riders and how they feel about the bikes good and bad. I think It helps extend the riding community and opens it up to be more inclusive. That said these comments do feel very special and I thank you
Hah was looking for a review on this bike and I would not have guessed it would be from the very dealer I will be buying my next bike from. It must always be windy there because both times I have test drove bikes, it has been windier than I would prefer. I suppose that gives you a good idea of what it might be like on any given day touring in the Midwest.
Open fields, mostly flat and straight roads and wind is all we get lol. Its awesome that this reached you that way. Hope it was helpful in someway. Appreciate you for taking the time to watch and comment. Randy's is a great place for riders. Let me know what you get if you have time
Does anyone else hate these new bags? I mean they look like a girl with really skinny legs, a skinny waste, but a big huge ass. They look like an afterthought.
Yeah we have to be difficult here in america. Metric system is to difficult for us. Honestly this does have a decent speed for what it is in my opinion.
17K for a bike with a single front brake disc. 😂 I respect the heritage, but this BS has to stop. This company is going to collapse…unless they can just fully transition into a clothing company…and that makes me sad. Hope Indian is watching and learning…
Not really. It's got a lot of power on tap and could get a new rider into trouble unless careful. Could someone start on it sure but I'm a start with 50bhp or less person just to allow a new rider time to get comfortable with all the aspects of riding with a little less fear of a 121bhp bike.
I like a form factor and handling of a Nightster 975 a lot more. I wish that HD will put a 1250 engine in a Nightster and give it a dual front disc. Or even better by give us the Bronx. That will be really sweet. I will even pay more for the HD brand name if they make one.
