I have the same treadmill as your nordick trac I do speed 3 and do incline at different levels my right knee always feels uncomfortable in the back and front of it it’s something that just isn’t going away but I took the brace off and it seems to have strengthened because I didn’t get reinjured that kept happenings I would re injure it over and over, been over a week no brace the knee still doesn’t feel right but the intense pain is gone but the dull pain is not. Idk what I’m doing wrong causing this to happen my left knee is 100%

Your the first time someone has described my pain. I have a 40 week wait to get an appointment at my hospital but I have been suffering since August of last year. I'm no doctor but the pain you described for the Baxters Entrapment and the location are spot on. My only issue now is that squiggly lump has started to appear and becomes more noticeable as the day goes on and is white in colour. Any idea what it is? All I can say it's so painful to walk no matter what time of the day. I'm getting spasms now which are that painful, that they make me cry.
@edwardwilliammorris1340
@edwardwilliammorris1340 4 месяца назад
It's definitely a combination of shoe and running technique , im 5"10 and 13"6 so a bit of a lump but i run as smoothly as i can , always run over 200 miles a month. I have many pairs at 500+ and one pair of noveblast v1's with over 1250 miles on them ( GPS no guesswork) . Poor running form can eat through shoes but landing well means even a big person can get great mileage. Ignore the 500 maximum crap , its just a sales thing . Its worth noting that ALL my shoes go through the washing machine with the insoles pulled out and thrown in too , 40c max and plenty of powder, they come out looking and feeling fresh 😁🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Thank you so much Doctor Andrew! This foot has been driving me crazy for about 6 weeks and the band exercise at 7:15 immediately (I mean instantly) eliminated the pain! I thought it was plantar fasciitis, but your symptom description related to be Baxter's entrapment. Initially, my pain would come and go, even while running. Sometimes I would step out of bed and it was fine, but not always. The pain had become chronic though, over the last week. I had gone through 4 sessions of EPAT Therapy and I did not have any change, but now I know why. I understand that the symptoms may reappear, but I will continue to strengthen my foot in this manner and hope the muscles and nerve return to normal permanently.

Help..! What if it's not pain when stepping... I have a weird sensation. when I have my knees bent, I can twirl and dorsiflex my feet however I like. but when I stretch my leg out and I try to flex my foot up, it feels like something under the base of the heel is "pulling".. feels like if I flex it more, it might rip. It feels like the bottom of baxter's nerve, but it's not in pain and it's only upon stretching.

I do double run days because I run for fun and it keeps me unstressed while I’m a full time student. I feel like I need a break but my mind can’t stop thinking about what I have to do, so I’ll go for a run! Clears my mind and gets me back on track. I’ve never done two long runs though, it’ll be either two short or 1 long and one short, depending on how I feel!

I just recently purchased the Boston 11 Marathons and I absolutely love them. I have just a single personal flaw with them and that is the back of the collar on the right side of the achilles rubs just enough to be irritating without socks. Socks on, problem solved, He's also right about the method in which you have to put them on also. Not a lot of entry room. Once they're on though, they fit like a glove and I get a very secure lock-down. They're also very comfortable even though they provide just a little bit of a firm ride. With the sculptured front they have a bit of a rocker effect and the internally fused rods provide a good amount of spring once you get moving. I know they just came out with the Boston 12's, but I'm going to run these into the ground first.

So many very stable neutral high cushioning shoes that overpronation runner like myself can use : Adidas SolarBoost 5, SolarGlide 6 , NB 1080v12, More V4 , all Hokas shoes , Mizuno Wave Sky etc etc. But unfortunately ,I had overpronation problems with my left heel when I use my Gel-Nimbus 25. I can't use it for anything faster then a very slow pace .... unfortunately, the wide base of the shoes is not enough to do at least a minor assist to evade excessive overpronation. No guardrails or anything ... just the wide base and a snug upper can't do much when running in high heel (41mm/33) . Anyways I liked my Gel-Nimbus 25 , it is one of the most comfortable shoes ever but I still preffer the previous version as the best Nimbus ever and one of the best versatile cushioning shoes ever created : Gel-Nimbus 24 ! Super stable this one, by the way.

Great lesson, Andrew, and great workout too! I like to do this too. It's actually a relief when I've got about a half an hour left and I know that I can pick up the pace a little and not worry about getting to the finish. The longer range of motion seems to involve some fresh muscle fibers and it can feel easier than "easy" pace. And I agree that it's great training for keeping effort low at the faster tempo. When I've already built up some fatigue, staying relaxed and economical is what I naturally want to do. I'd like to improve my "ultramarathon" endurance too though, doing more of them as true long slow distance. The fact that it's a challenge for me makes me think that I've got some room to get better in that area. Thanks for the excellent video and all the best!
@runningwithdr.andrewdpt9177

@@runningwithdr.andrewdpt9177 Thanks Andrew! To clarify, I haven't run an ultra or even decided on one to try at this point, thus the quotes around "ultramarathon." I get inspiration from the idea and I'd like to be able to keep a truly easy "easy" running pace for hour after hour as I would need to do, whether I eventually run one or not. But thanks for believing in me!😂

Fantastic review. Do you mind if I ask what your typical foot strike is (heel or mid foot or forefoot)? I ask because I'm typically a mid to forefoot striker and have run mostly in Altra but have been unhappy with their quality as of late. I had a run in the Brooks Glycerin 20 and loved it except it did feel weird having more foam in the heel where I don't even land. Would love your thoughts as a DPT on the viability of running in Brooks with their typical high drop if you're a midfoot/forefoot striker. TIA!
@runningwithdr.andrewdpt9177
Thank you for watching and commenting. I am a forefoot striker. It seems to be ok with the 8 mm drop for me. The Hyperion max feels good at faster paces. So, I tend to want to run on my forefoot mostly on faster paces.
@largeeddie
@largeeddie Год назад
Great run, Andrew! That sounds like a really cool event. I didn't know about it but it happens that my afternoon run, a tempo-y 10k, was just a bit slower, 57:06 according to GPS. We're getting a break from the heat we had last week and it actually felt like spring outside today which I enjoyed. I don't have a really big goal for the year, but something I'm focused on is getting better at the long long runs. I'd like to dial in my routine and maybe get to where two hours or more is fairly normal, where it doesn't feel like as big an effort as a race. I'm probably more excited about trail races than road marathons at the moment, but I see lots of room to improve the extended easy runs and I'd like to work on that first. Kudos on the virtual race, and all the best!

Nice one, tnks for the info! I saw at least one negative review from someone who dislikes the firm midsole. Any idea how it compares to the midsoles of the Hoka Mach 5? The mach 5 has kinda become my main all-purpose daily trainer and in a way my reference point when shopping for fresh shoes. The Hyperion Max should be more durable than the Hoka's, and they're even lighter. But they're pricey, and I'm not sure if the midsole will be too firm/stiff for me :/
@runningwithdr.andrewdpt9177
Thank you for watching, the Hyperion max is firm but responsive. I do like the Hoka Mach 5 it is responsive with the pro fly + foam and the rubberized foam for the outsole. I feel that the Mach 5 might be good for your everyday running shoe and you can do speed work. The Hyperion max feels good with tempo work and speed work as well.
