What a beauty! My Dad got this same exact one in 1993 and drove it off the showroom floor. It was his baby. He'd had 3 TransAm's total. The first was also brand new and it was the 1977. He said he got his before the "Smokey and the Bandit" it was black with the Gold trim with red cloth interior. But when he married my mother in 1979 he traded it in for the silver 10th Anniversary TransAm. He said he could not stand the new looks of the 82-92 models. Which, I like them all. My mother traded the 10th anniversary in 1989 for a stupid chevy corsica. She had 3 kids with my Dad, and they ended up having a fourth. So, he was a single Dad in 93, and was happy to get this car. He sold it in 2000 out right with 37,000 miles on it for 14k. He always says he wished he'd kept it. No, my mother left my Dad 16 times and left her children while he was at work. I know, it's a bit much. But, TransAm's are part of my childhood. I'll never forget when he had my 2 year sister and came to pick me up from a neigbors house that watched me after school and I was told "your dad has a new TransAm" I was young and only in the 2nd grade, so I was thinking of the 79. But, it was awesome to see this car. It purred like a tiger! There's so much to the story, that I could never explain. Lol😅
