@2:43:08 seeing Lufkin nationally ranked at 5 was BANANAS! I was a freshman that year and we WHOOPED The Woodlands in their hometown on ESPN2..That’s when Dez Bryant was on that squad!
I was a member of J.T Curtis’s first win team in 1970. I was a freshman defensive tackle when Curtis beat Delta Heritage Academy for their first win ever!
I remember Phil Johnson being on the TV as a kid in N.O. This clip was different from his usual perspective, I remember him being very warm to the Democrats in most respects. When my Republican grandmother saw him come on it was her cue to go to the bathroom or do something else for the next few minutes. He rarely had anything positive to say about Republicans, so he must have really felt strongly about Senator Biden.
When it was near closing time for the night and the lines were not long we would rode the zypher and get off and run back around and ride it again and again
It’s funny seeing the wide receiver recruiting rankings pop up and they mentioned everyone on the list except Dez Bryant 😆 and he ended up being the beast
I know it has been a long time since this was put up, but the second part of this film - after they descend on the chairlift - is NOT Ghost Town. Dan Blocker was filmed somewhere else. He was at Ghost Town at some point, but that footage is from another park. Possibly "Frontier Land" in Cherokee.
I was one of the kids receiving the autographed photos Dan Blocker was giving out. He was definitely at Ghost Town in Cherokee, not Frontierland. There is no continuity to the viewing order of these 3 and a half minute 8mm films.
My bad. The lack of continuity threw me. The western town shown after the descent on the chairlift was not Ghost Town. The train is much larger and Ghost Town never had real horses. Frontier Land and Ghost Town were both built by R.B. Coburn, so I assumed Blocker had maybe been at both parks. Went to Ghost Town quite a bit in the late 60s and early 70s.
@@ralph_wiley420 I was trying to rack my 67 year old brain to remember Frontierland. Was it in Cherokee and was there a chairlift there? I also remember Gold Rush Junction in Pigeon Forge. I believe it eventually became Dollywood.
@ShelleyVideo for some reason my dad never took us to Frontier Land, so I don't really know about that. I'm 60 myself. But Frontier Land used to be where the casino is now. Dollywood USED to be Silver Dollar City, and before that, Rebel Railroad. My dad was from Murphy, as was his whole family. So, from 1964 to about 1980 I would visit the Smokies a lot. *Edit to note that Gold Rush Junction came between Rebel Railroad and Silver Dollar City in Dollywood's history.
@@ralph_wiley420 My grandparents lived in the Oak Ridge area and our family would make the trip up there from New Orleans every summer. I just located a promotional poster, online, for Dan Blocker’s appearance at Ghost Town for October 5 and 6th. Me and my 4 siblings would have been in school at that time, so you may be correct that he was at Frontierland in our 8mm film. I also found online that Hoss appeared there in summer 1964.
At 6:59 and onward, it’s a clip that was once posted here in full and uncut by warzone sports. The video cut off at a frame at about 7:50. The video was privatized for unknown reasons
I shot and edited this entire video. If it appeared on anyone else’s channel other than Shelleyvideo’s channel, then it had to be reposted by someone who did not create it.
I think the same folks opened one of these attractions between Conway, SC and Myrtle Beach as well. My family visited the Ghost Town in SC. We had an 8 mm camera, but I don’t think we made any movies of that trip.
Great, well-shot, priceless video. Thanks for sharing. The audio is very professional. As a train enthusiast, I vote no music. I would prefer to just hear Ray's instructions, the steam release, clanking of the drivers, and the wheels clanking on the track. But please don't get me wrong - this the very best video of 745 that I have seen. Much, much better than mine: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vqetsEQKaKw.html
The title of the video clearly says "Music Video"! If you didn't want to hear the accompanying music you should not have clicked on the video to watch it. There are many other videos on RU-vid featuring steam locomotives with natural sound and no music. You review of the video was an especially "crappy" one!
I was teaching at MCA at that time and had to go back to work that night for a parent/teacher conference. I will never forget getting out of the car, looking to the East, and seeing the entire sky a dense, black cloud. I remember it being started by a disgruntled employee for some reason.
Ok, any girl who doesn’t immediately think “boyfriend material” doesn’t know shit. Like- you just got concern and protective instincts inside 2 min. And he clearly thinks she’s cute. What else does he have going for him?
