As far as I'm aware of, it may be impossible. PS3 version requires a hyroscope. You throw a bakugan by shaking your controller. Maybe there's a way to emulate this shaking, but I'm not sure.
Sheldon J. Plankton: Curses! CURSES! You idiots ruined my Plan Z! Dynamight: DID YOU CALL ME AN IDIOT!?!😡 11:19 Sheldon J. Plankton: N-no, no. Uh, idiot's, heh heh, uh, uh, French for a "handsome man."😅 (TF2 Spy screaming)😱
Assuming the performance is good (can't judge from the video) I'd say it's a decent enough port. Cuts to texture resolution are to be expected. Shame that the water reflections couldn't be added. Beyond Good & Evil has great looking water reflections even on PS2. On a side note, what impressed me about the PC version is that it didn't require any tweaks to get running on a modern system. As long as you're fine playing at 4:3, you can just launch it and enjoy. It even has native support for Xinput controllers. I'm not aware of any other 6th gen game that has this feature. Edit: Actually, the screen tearing is quite obvious in the PS2 version.
Not sure, but I believe Xinput controllers support was added later in a Steam version. Speaking of PS2 port's performance, it's not great, but it's playable. Framerate tends to be pretty unstable sometimes, It can go from 60 to 15 in a moment, but on the other hand, it's a pretty common thing for PS2 games. I know that PS2 is capable of stable 30 and even 60 fps in great looking games, but Psychonauts weren't made with PS2 in mind. It was meant to be an Xbox exclusive. So I think whoever ported this game just didn't have time to optimize it, or maybe the game was made around some Xbox technologies which are hard to adapt on PS2. I don't know, I'm not competent enough. But I finished the game on PS2 multiple times and I'd say it's ok. Although some textures compressions is way too radical and It feels like the game wasn't even tested properly after compression. Some textures is just a blob of colors, you can't tell what was there originally.
@@RalphFinchi I see. It makes sense about the controller support. About the game,I read online that it was supposed to be an Xbox exclusive originally. The decision to publish it on PS2 as well was made fairly later during development and a separate studio was tasked with porting the game. So, I guess that makes sense to. It's a good thing that the PC version is good then.
it really does with those stretched textures. Thankfully not as badly dated graphically like Turok Dinosaur Hunter. That game is fun too (and has pretty cool mocop animation), but oof the graphics.
What controller are you using? My Xbox controller version is not working well, and I'm thinking about buying a non-official PS3 controller that still works on the console to play this game. What do you think?
Mod list and my opinion about V (If you even care): Personally, I don't think that V's a bad character at all. I'd say he's being kinda overhated in the community. I really like his design, his face model, his voice, his theme song, the fact that he uses DMC 1 bosses as familiars, the way he reads poetry. He's such a memorable and unique protagonist. And yeah, his moveset is kinda ass, but he was planned as a one-off character all along. You play only 4 missions as him during the campaign, so you don't even have much time to get bored of him. When I first played DMC 5, I was really impressed by his gameplay. It felt like a totally unique experience that's unlike anything I've played before. The fact that you don't really fight by yourself, but at the same time you do, was kinda mindblowing to me. It's like controlling a unit in the RTS game, but instead of just giving him commands, you personally take every step he takes and shoot every bullet he shoots. If V comes back in a new installement with a fresh movelist, that would be awesome. But It's also extremely unlikely to happen. So even If he won't be a separate character in a new game, I'd like to see his extended role as a part of Vergil's moveset. Yeah, World of V move is cool and all, but It's the only move that involves V and you don't really do anything during it. Mods: V replaces Vergil's EX costume: www.nexusmods.com/devilmaycry5/mods/1784 Sparda family house as The Void: www.nexusmods.com/devilmaycry5/mods/1963
I actually booted up the game after this comment to do some experiments. And It turns out that summoning swords around one Empusa is enough to gain insta SSS. When summon swords release, they have to hit every single Empusa in order to SSS. Otherwise it's gonna be A or S. But I guess the thing that boosts your style even higher is that you one shot kill enemies with summon swords, cuz BP stage 1 is on Human difficulty. If these summon swords just hit the enemy, but won't kill them, there's a good chance that it won't be an SSS.
@@huntingdragon01Hopefully. But this video is not that impressive, I guess. DMC 5 allows players to perform something way more insane. And here I am. Just summoning blades on accident.
Amazing game, but awful PS2 version with no improvements due to bad performance and the framerate is extremely unstable All The time it never feels good so it's unfinished. The PS3, PS4 & PS5 are even worst than PS2. Just play the Xbox or PC versions.
Indeed. Versions for modern PlayStations also have a weird flickery light, which isn't present on PS2. Absolutely lazy port. Speaking of PS2, this port wasn't made by Double Fine themselves. Intro cutscenes feature some company called Budcat Creations. I think they are responsible for all the ridiculousness that happened.
Sorry, I have no idea. The only thing I can recommend you, is installing the same emulator version as mine. Works perfectly for me in Bakugan. Also, the game uses gyroscope and accelerometer to steer and throw a bakugan. I'm not sure if It's possible to play this game on keyboard or controller that doesn't have those. At least the PS3 version. PS2 works fine with keyboard. X360 also doesn't require accelerometer and gyroscope.
