With how loud the cities are these days, try going out without any amplification and you're going to make nothing unfortunately, no one's going to hear you.
Thanks fur sharing. Where dae ye get the clips and dae ye need a licence tae sell CDs? I am 67 and I have played all over the place and just recently started busking again. I bought a very lightweight smart guitar by Enya with built in fx etc its been a life saver on my back. I also bougth a wee spark go amp that attaches tae ma belt and is pretty loud. I just need a mic stand that folds up and another wee amp for vocals.
The music stand clips are from Amazon. You do need a street trader's licence if you're going to sell CDs, Glasgow Council have just announced new guidelines for busking.
I've found it's pretty sturdy so long as it's not too windy. It'll usually stand up to wind gusts up to about 20mph, anything above and it'll fall over. Make sure the gooseneck arm holding the mic is directly over one of the legs of the base for stability. www.amazon.co.uk/Microphone-Portable-Adjusted-Gooseneck-Standard/dp/B09MF7DRNZ/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?crid=1DNBNOGOZVABA&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.WLDA7i0WxYkyUP7DMvILSLdpHHv6LsQMESC3yeKoXpZNAC-P9Z0zydDaIzoJwjOOP6JZ4BFYjGLL4c9psJKa2zemV_b-dO3FQDijBh2860Jy6r7cqsAkGGBgoC3bTYeIkt6aajxE7XVAT1z_OsdcUK9udr2gtIs62UtELxFCu7mUxS2cnTd0NgNb6kO34LjYCBbHIKUR3jnX8NYyb-V_gARdB0v5mM0WcGVhJGkrXRDNlYVHppOXK0oNNZksN88ZnZ5M3lqJ6_1_8PZCiJ2OPLEe3iUPjoEJas4WBpVG2hM.ZRbUPZoDqIa9lJhInjv71w0tpd0MutASjNaqgyMWmws&dib_tag=se&keywords=gooseneck+microphone+stand&qid=1718133390&sprefix=gooseneck+mi%2Caps%2C77&sr=8-3-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
@@davidburnsmusic What a great name for a Scotsman you have.Hope you do some of his poems that have been put to music. Also “ I belong to glasgow” by the great Will Fife .I do it and once changed it to “I belong to London” for fun and people loved it.Busk on and prosper David thanx for yr vid
I grew up in Ayr, just up the road from the cottage Robert Burns did in Alloway. I've been known to do 'The Banks O' Doon' around Burns night, and the tune to 'I Belong To Glasgow' is part of a medley of tunes we use for waltzes in the ceilidh band I play with
@@davidburnsmusic Wonderful would love to hear them sessions.I heard a version of Take the High Road with the words changed to “my heart is broken forever” it broke me up sob sob. With busking you have to look at the people and do songs of their age group I think.Of course 500miles the younger ones all know proclaimers.Hope you film and post some of yr busks.peace to you stay well
👋 Bryan 14 from pemba. I really like that song' I bet you use to be one of those long haired hippies back in the day and played rock and roll music and had fun.
The strip lights in the rehearsal room can cause some interference noise. It's really annoying, we end up having to switch them all off and just use a few lamps when we record
In most of the cities in Germany you can't use any kind of amplification for busking. Only if you get specific certificates with the city and you can only play for special times and places. I have two big cities nearby, Cologne and Düsseldorf, and they both have very strict and sometimes complicated rules where and when you can or can't play and for how long and how often and how far you have to move etc. To be honest it's quite the mess ^^ But here in my smaller city, I only have to move to the next spot every 20 minutes of playing, but within those mini sets I can do pretty much whatever I want. So I will absolutely start hitting the streets again. <3
@@davidburnsmusic In Cologne they banned amplification completely and in Düsseldorf you can't have amplification and even can't have any sort of percussion. So it depends totally on the city. I used to live in Bonn and there you had to do an audition at the city hall to get permission to purchase a license for the year.
I feel If RU-vid had a 82% speed listen this would be the right tempo. 75% is a little slower than the song, but not by much. Good to see you are having fun with it though. :D Great song.
Great review! I got a rickenbacker 325 and aiming to get the early Beatles Tone. Which reverb setting would you suggest with this pedal? Spring or plate? Also would the Neo be good enough? Trying to save pedalboard space but wouldn’t mind sacrificing for sound quality.
Cheers! I can't say I'm enough of an expert in The Beatles studio techniques to say for certain what would work best, but I believe most of the reverberation on their recordings would have been done in Abby Road's reverb chambers (cue all RU-vid's keyboard warriors weighing in to correct me!), so a hall reverb could be a starting point to experiment with. The great thing about a pedal like this is it can simulate quite a few different sounds so you can play about with it until you find the tone you're looking for. Nice one with the Rickenbacker by the way, I've got a 330 and love playing it!
@@davidburnsmusic funny how you mentioned the abbey chambers. Was going through reverb lastnight and came across the Keeley abbey chambers verb and pulled and jumped on it right away despite being pricey. Thanks for your feedback.
