I dunno what to say, she loves apples. I feed her greens, avocado, apples mostly, and either crickets or worms 1-2x a week. For whatever reason, she doesn’t like to poop in her enclosure and enjoys going in the bath or when running around. If she hasn’t gone poop in a few days, I give her a bath to help her out.
One other thing, this is just a care video for my specific lizard, not meant to be a care guide for anyone. My brother and his wife are watching her while I’m out of town for work, so I made a video for them.
@timconnelly3804 please please please look up proper care and what not to feed. Avocado is really bad for them too. If you care about Roxy do her right by letting her live a long healthy life.
I see the avocado being toxic bit- she doesn’t particularly like them so I’ve only fed her avocado a few times. However I see apples are considered ok according to the Google machine. Thanks for the heads up
@timconnelly3804 you got it, thanks for checking into it! Apples ha a lot of sugar which causes obesity and worse yet jaw rot. Dragons don't have teeth but boney pertrusions from the jaw bone. Any cavities means the jaw is rotting and it's as bad as it sounds. In the wild there are no fruit. Substitute it for dandelion flowers you can pick outside for free. Actually lots of weeds are awesome for them. Thanks again for looking into it and wish you both a happy healthy future, cheers!
It worked pretty good. Helps if you have a spare set of throttle plates to go back to if necessary. Just start small and set a baseline idle mixture with the screws, then go progressively larger till you have a nice crisp idle, with the transfer slot correct, and about 1.5 turns out.
Am I missing something? Looked like only 2 pedals there. Unless the clutch pedal hadn't been done yet? Any issues with length on the T5, I've been wanting to manual swap my T bucket which currently uses a th350, but I don't know which manual trans is same/similar length.
The pedals you see in the video are clutch and brake; the throttle pedal mounts to the firewall/body once that is on. The T5 trans mount is ~1.5" further back than a TH350, and the trans itself is ~3" longer, so your driveshaft will need to be shorter, and your trans mount moved/modified. Other than that, it is a much lighter, more compact unit than the TH350, or any auto trans for that matter. I initially mocked this chassis up with a TH350. I have a build thread on the HAMB called "The Belly Button Bucket Build Thread" if you want to take a deep dive through that.... lots of reading though. For a T5, optimistically you will want to find a World Class V8 F body trans. That gives you a good gear set and it is the strongest T5 made for a GM platform. To put the shifter in a good location, you will want to use a 621 or similar bellhousing, and swap the tail housing and shifter fork assembly from an S10 T5. That is the hot setup. It puts the shifter right at your palm in a T. To mount the T5 to a 4 speed bellhousing, you have to drill the mounting holes slightly larger with a 1/2" bit, as these were a metric case originally. Squeezing in 3 pedals in a T bucket was a little tricky, I made my own pedals to fit the space available. Overall I think it is absolutely worth the effort. I need to wire the car and it will be ready to drive, but I have home renovations in front of that project right now, unfortunately. Thanks for checking out the video.
One more thing, a Muncie or T10 or Saginaw 4 speed will bolt right into your TH350 mount with no driveshaft shortening, but all of those will likely put the shifter under your leg as the linkage is on the side of the trans. IMO not worth the "convenience" of bolting it in.
Dacooldragon aka Danny thanks Danny! I’ve done a little since this video but not much. There’s a build thread on the H.A.M.B. I started called The Belly Button Bucket Build Thread. I bought a house a year or so ago and haven’t done anything since then unfortunately. I need to get back on this thing...
Tim Connelly my pleasure. And thanks for the update. And that’s alright, even though I’ve still got my junior license I understand that life does get in the way sometimes. I’ve got quite a few ideas of my own for a build, but I’m rather busy with schoolwork, so I don’t have a job or allowance, plus I’ve already got a cheap Mitsubishi that I want to make the most out of before it’s replaced.
Kenneth Hetrick I was in a pinch and needed something quick and dirty. I did bolt a support to the front of the stand running up to the motor mounts on each side, but it was still a bit sketchy. It did work though LOL
I had a machine shop cut them for larger springs, and they rebuilt them at that time with SS valves etc. Nothing special really. CHP did several articles a few years back with Vortec heads and the XE cam line. Those articles were published into a book called High Performance SBC Buildups or something like that. I highly recommend that book!
