Great video, Dave. I don’t know why I don't take pictures of myself when I'm out to places. At some point, I'll get #33 so I can say I got every single stop. Larry #548 in Fort Worth
Wow! Nice video! Hate to here about the problem with your bike. I have a friend that had issues with his 2024 Tri Glide. There was a piston ring missing. Was not found anywhere in the engine. suspect that it was not installed during factory assembly. Interesting!
Thank You for creating the Motorcycle Grand Tour of Texas. I have been here 2 year's, the Tour has allowed me to see all the Historic site's in Texas which I Love. Thank You and ride safe.
Do you folks discriminate ? as I did not see any KLR 650's , if your going to be that way , you won't be invited on my Dallas to Yosemite trip this summer , Lol
If you really want to get a taste of this “greatest of states”, this is the Tour for you. We’re just scratching the surface here. Thank you for posting! Safe travels. ATGATT!
It's basically a way for someone to make money off you. I participated in the first two years and was even going to be a sponsor after the second. At the end of the second year my camera messed up and I didn't get a picture of one of my last stops. I had gps tracking, app references, RECEIPTS and other pictures that showed I made the stop. David didn't give me credit for it. Since you can get 5 pics without your bike I drove to the farthest stop away from my house to get that picture - Wink, Tx. On the way home I hit a tractor trailer half rim sitting in the middle of my lane (truck was in the next lane) at night at 80 mph (posted speed limit). This happened in that void of all civilization east of Junction, Tx. When I shared the picture of my Number in the Roy Orbison Museum and told David (I had his personal phone number) about totaling my car out and where, David simply said "submit your picture for credit". Later, he said that "if you don't like the rules, don't participate" and he refunded my sponsorship fees. He even accused me of photoshopping my number onto pictures of my bike in front of each stop - ???(that all by itself is insane). It wasn't the rules that was the problem, I followed the rules. He NEVER EVEN ASKED IF I WAS OK! I was literally stranded in the middle of nowhere and he couldn't even show the slightest bit of empathy. And we WERE acquaintances - talked MULTIPLE times at multiple meet-ups, casually. He gave me his phone number so we could communicate. My suggestion if you like to ride, look at the list and make the stops. It's all public and you can do it for free. The hassle of anything going wrong isn't worth a patch that says "50 Stop Finisher". Besides, several of the stops are exactly the same year to year (sponsors) for FIVE YEARS in a row now. David Canada is ONLY doing this for the money it puts in his pocket! David will reply that I had an issue with the rules - I followed the rules to the point. Again, had he asked if I was ok or even said that was a bummer, I would still be part of the tour! It's ALL about the inflow of $$ for David Canada.
