Thanks for doing this - it's a really good comparison. I actually have both sets and I totally agree with your points of view. In addition to your Victrix requests, I'm also hoping for some Bactrian cavalry, with semi-armoured horses. Happy painting! Regards, Steve
Uuuugh LBMS Transfers...what a process. I played in your game on Sunday at Historicon...Roman Cav General...I talked to you about an alternative, cheaper, and faster way of doing decals for shields. Hit me up when you want to get together.
We played in your game on Sunday morning, and it was an exceptional experience to play a rule system we haven't tried before...that's the purpose of going to gaming conventions, is to try at least something new. Your group presentation was spot on. My son Dan played the center Barbarian command, while I was the Roman Heavy Cavalry commander. The crappy flights home had us all scattered...felt light Homer's Odyssey trying to get back with all the cancellations. Broken figures and scattered riders...that sucks too. Glad you were able to go back in and repair. Looking forward to meeting up with you guys locally for some more ancients and WWII action and more. Take care.
@redmist1122 glad yall had a good time, Harry told me you were having an awesome time. I will start to re-read my chain on command rules at night in preparation for some future games
Heartbreaking to hear what happened to your figures. I'd have freaked the F out. Obviously driving from AZ to PA is out of the question next time. Sounds like there are going to be a lot of Hoplites and slingers duking it out over a certain large chunk of rock between two continents in 2026. Glad to hear you had a good time and that you only had one "that f'n guy" at your game.
@@rangerminiaturesandgaming3647 I've been a junky about the Mediterranean c. 400-200 BC for about a year. I swear I've watched every documentary at least twice.
Great content! GW has been doing the fans dirty for years, that's why I got into 3d printing- Printing a Baneblade or "superheavy space tank" right now lol However, my War of The Roses project has priority.
Romans are looking great. There's a conversion kit of the ikea cabinets that doubles up the shelves, you can even triple them up-there are videos on YT using ropewire clamps.
Stellar project and success. Good on you for doing the shields yourself. Both the Romans and Goths look really good. Hope your game goes well. Safe travels.
Awesome work, painting looks amazing on all those figures. I am just finishing the last baggage stuff right now. Not sure on the final figure count myself!
I think the Shieldwall unit looks good, well spaced and disciplined. In general your shields look great and really separate out the various (Roman) units
Good update, Aventine unit looks awesome especially, the hand painted shields look great. I think the battle will look great what ever we get done at this point.
This is such a great cool project, full force all in project. Not many can handle this size of a project. Casualty Markers really add that extra flavor to the gaming table. I use them . When the bodies(markers) starts to pile up on the table, the gaming become more intense and the immersion is cranked up a bit. Keep up the good work. 👍
Your Aventine shield wall figures look great painted up. It is a shame that they don't fit in to a tighter formation, Aventine are a little wide of the mark there. I intend getting some though, but instead of getting the "second rank" figures I may get "third rank" figures in their place, so each set of "first rank" will be followed by a set of "third rank" with another set of "third rank" behind them. That may get the first two ranks tighter together to present more of a complete wall.
@richardbrooks5899 actually watched the whole thing multiple times. His video is nothing but woke idioms being vomited with a self entitled air of superiority when he probably has the understanding of history lower than my 12 yo. But if you think he is so great feel free to go suck him off in his comments section.
@@rangerminiaturesandgaming3647 Wow. Complain about twitter mentality then act like a right-wing social media snowflake. And yeah, I don't normally watch Midwinter's stuff, but if that's what you think that's what his video was like, you're not living in the same reality as the rest of us. Crazy take.
@richardbrooks5899 I mean you come to my channel, posting on a video 1 year old, throw some insults at me, then get mad/confused when I tell you to piss off? Interesting..... I mean if you wanted to have a honest conversation should have started with that and not accused me not watching a 10 minute RU-vid video and "group think" like I am incapable of thinking for myself. Dying to hear what you retort with next😂
@@rangerminiaturesandgaming3647 I mean you coulda just let it slide without comment as 'comment on a video a year old'. You Instead blew your top, proved if you did watch the video as you say you didn't understand it at all, and used 'woke' repeatedly and unironically to describe something not even remotely leftist. I'm not the one with the problem here.
