Here you get a front row seat to my coaching world. Through these day-in-the-life videos, I share my experience and passion for working with golfers at every level, and how to effectively practice golf, play golf and make the most of any time you have to dedicate to this awesome game.

My goal is to help people through my experience so I will not recommend a product or service unless I've
1) Used it personally (which will be the case the vast majority of the time). 2) Thoroughly researched it and gotten first-hand user feedback from other professionals I trust and that have used the product/service.
I had totally lost my strike whilst playing competitive matches for my club. I was really struggling not only with a two way miss but also the resulting distance variability i.e., weak strike super short whilst good strikes were super long. I did this drill yesterday and now have strike back. Can sometimes over-draw but huge improvement. Also feel like I can now rotate my forearms and hands as fast and powerfully as I like without starting the ball left. Thank you!!
If there is a secret in golf, this is it. If you do this correctly and get the trail arm where it should be, all you have to do is rotate the arms just a little just before impact, and you've got it!
Really tried to emphasize this feel today at the range, only took a couple balls to really see improved strike. Still needs some work to tighten it up but loved this drill.
My brain only just clicked on (and I now get the feel of) the 'bent right wrist angle' feel that is the third part of this video. Wow !! What a difference in keeping my left wrist flat and ergo my clubface square. Thanks Eric !!
I saw another where the coach asked the player to swing with an OPEN trail hand to get the same feeling. So open the hand instead of gripping the club. Same feel, different method. But maybe without broken plates.. lol
Its so funny how the body is all connected and feel isnt always real...forever i was trying to start with the hips on my downswing, then i discovered this right side bend stuff and now for whatever reason my hips clear completely out or the way
Outstanding. I've been puzzling over how to do exactly this for a while now. The other thing is the timing of the hip rotation move. Good players seem to turn their hips quite a lot before their club shaft reaches horizontal in the downswing. Max Homa also keeps his shoulders mostly still aligned toward the target at impact even though his hips are quite rotated, so he has a lot of separation between lower body and upper body. Thank you for this great suggestion for how to work on this tricky move!
Thanks Eric so much for this video and of course all your great videos. You and Danny Maude. are the best out there no doubt. Keep it coming from friend......
For sure-----as we do these videos for the masses....I'm trying to give some good GENERAL checkpoints/thoughts within making it TOO micro.... I think if you line up 1,000 golfers and have them go for "flat" that would be best....given all kinds of different grips, etc it will vary but thats a good middle ground
@@CogornoGolf I once saw one of the 3D modeling golf channels say impact happens on the trail side. I know before I had a misconception of swinging my arms too much towards the target if that makes sense.
Awesome video. I have been really struggling off the Tee to the point I leave my driver at home. So was wondering if this also works with driver and 3 wood? Cheers✌️
Thank you! Similar stuff for sure---if you're struggling with driver (without seeing your swing) I would start with this one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-llgmdwOPxx4.html
i was doing this 16 years ago and i keep my ball on the left but very far ... i guess i am concern of striaghter ball so i change. now when i hit sometimes i go back to this process,.
I'm working on finding different things to shallow and stop coming over the top. Tried this with a soccer ball in the backyard and feels very easy to do. Will take it to the range and hit balls with this method. Hope it helps.
Soccer ball should work great---good one! hope this one helps. Its exaggerated for sure.....but if you're someone who goes too far INSIDE on the BACKSWING which leads to that over the top then FLIPPING that and doing the exact opposite should help change the motion of the shaft Key here is the SHAFT goes OUTSIDE here.....NOT THE HANDS Hope that helps
Thanks Eric. Always enjoy your lessons. For me, I need to feel left hand dominant during the transition and down through impact. Thanks for mentioning that I can achieve the same thing by rotating left forearm and bowing my left wrist.
I like that! Everyone needs SOME of that spinning (trail forearm pronation). More with weaker grip/more open face coming down.....less with stronger grip/more closed face coming down
Nice video. My feel is sort of like I'm hitting a forehand topspin with a tennis racket. I get both the forearm rotation to square the face and the release on the follow through.
By far the best instructional videos on RU-vid. That said this feels like TMI to conscously incorporate into the golf swing. Why? Because there just isn't time to incorporate these kind of nuances into the swing by most players. For me, the videos that explain proper take away, importance of getting club on plane and then how to start the downswing correctly with proper tempo are critical parts of making a proper golf swing. After that it all just happens since there is no time to think about these kind of things unless the aforementioned is engrained from intense repetition over a long time. Just an observation although I understand the purpose of the video.
I for one am here for the in depth detail, not sure why the takeaway of this, or any instruction, would be that you ought to incorporate all details consciously into your swing.
The sign of a great video: Step 1: watch video. Step 2: deny to yourself that you could possibly be doing the wrong thing demonstrated in video. Step 3: use mirror/video to prove that you were *definitely* doing the wrong thing. Step 4: watch video again in amazement.
