Just got myself GS Pro to go with my Mevo+ to play more than just the E6 courses that came with it (as much as I love links golf and having St. Andrews and Troon is amazing for that, the number of courses on GS Pro is just too good to say no to.) Huge fan of the Cabot courses and the Bandon courses as well. An American links-like pair of courses I'd recommend if you want to practice at more of a midwestern elevation close to my home here in Wisconsin would be Sand Valley, and Mammoth Dunes and I'd recommend both those to links lovers looking for something a little different. I also enjoy practicing my home course here and getting that advantage on my playing mates (The Meadows at 6 Mile Creek in Waunakee, WI; it's a nice, fairly typical southern Wisconsin course)

I recently had the opportunity to do this same test in a nice facility. The ground between the units, the ball, and the screen was all the same height, too. If we consider the best to be the Trackman 4, then the Full Swing Kit (FS Kit) was a close, close second. The Mevo+ with Pro Package did great, but not as close to Trackman as the FS Kit. Ease of use goes to FS Kit Accuracy goes to FS Kit (spin and carry distance) Autonomy goes to FS Kit (doesn’t need an app to take data) Price goes to Mevo+ Visualization goes to Mevo+ (shot shape is automatic in FS Golf) Reading short shots goest to Mevo+ (puts and chips) Portability is a tie: Mevo+ is lighter and easier to carry, FS Kit is heavier but faster to set up on the move Consistency goes to FS Kit (Mevo+ was sometime too large, sometimes too small) I lean toward the FS Kit, but it’s nearly twice the price. Before I decide, I’m taking a look at SkyTrak Plus. Might use that inside and get a cheaper radar device for outside.

I try to keep my clubs D2-D4 and do move the swing weight weight up or down, plus change my grip position ( up or down the shaft by 1 inch ) before changing loft. I use 40 gram Dri-tec LT grips then layer tape on 8-10 grams. I find you need to know the limit of the shaft, a 95gram R shaft from C8 to D4 really affects the flex , so you have to be careful. I swapped to graphite S shafts for this reason to allow greater ability to increase swing weight yet keep the flex close to my swing speed target. I never really see any greater distance 5-10yards. It is flight height really.
@scotthogangolf
@scotthogangolf Месяц назад
100% if I have a D4 swing weight in a 40 gram cypher driver shaft, that would not work out well and actually defeat the purpose of the lighter shaft. It's all a feel and also a much more complicated thing than just getting the "proper flex", it's how everything works together as you mentioned!

I think the shaft is very important, but the point is that you have to find a clubhead you like otherwise you won't know which part of the club is having a positive or negative effect on the ball flight. Shaft is obviously a very important element to the process.

It was both, I had basically the same setup, in the TSR2 and the ball speed went up from 160ish to 163. What also people aren't realizing is that the head can change how you deliver. One thing all of these "I GAINED XX NUMBER OF YARDS FROM A NEW DRIVER" have in common is their previous driver didnt fit them well. Its not that this driver is sooo fast or whatever these manufacturers want you to think, you just are spinning it less. 2800 to 2000 will gain anyone a decent chunk of distance, but you could have gained that distance with any brand out there, with their old or new drivers. This is all ignoring the fact that he lowered your spin with lower loft, which also will gain you ball speed. If more people understood how all this works, they wouldnt get so hyped on this stuff...
@scotthogangolf
@scotthogangolf 2 месяца назад
Without responding to all of this, I'll just say, he went up in loft 1.75 degrees and lowered spin. So you are not correct.
@schapediddly
@schapediddly 2 месяца назад
@@scotthogangolf Not according to the video, but lets even say that's true for arguments sake, you were hitting down on your cobra and up on the Titleist, a difference of just under 2 degrees. Also, you had an average 6° open face with your cobra, and a basically square face with the Titleist. Square face and more up will both equate to more club speed and less spin, which obviously result in more distance. Let's quit pretending new drivers are any faster. The answer is always in the numbers, whether that be the club spec numbers or swing numbers.
@StanforddeJong

2.23 - "We believe that the head is the most important component of the club." This is an interesting comment when you consider the variability in flex, torsion, and twist of every shaft attached to that head! #personalthought
@schapediddly
@schapediddly 2 месяца назад
The main contribution a shaft makes to a golf club is weight... People overhype shafts. The head is infinitely more important than the shaft. When people find a shaft that they swing well, it's 90% the weight that they are timing properly.
@scotthogangolf
@scotthogangolf 2 месяца назад
The head gets you into the right neighborhood. When I hit the different heads, one of them was just a no-go for me personally (still a great club) but based on what I like to see and need it wasn't hitting those windows so I only hit it a few times. But once there, the shaft is going to make little tweaks to really dial in the feel and the numbers needed for the golf club. Part of it can be weight, but a lot of times it's going to be if I have a certain torque it's easier to turn it over or keep the face open, or there are certain shafts with the same weight/flex but completely different bend profiles that feel and produce different results. That was my main goal of this video to show that it is definitely worth going to get fit and get the opportunity to try some different options that are out there.
