After 2 years of my first listen, when I intuitively felt the meaning of the song, now I am a point where I can say this song is about the soul and the ego. "You've always been there covering the sun", the ego blocks the glory of the soul, made in the image of Spirit. The ego always deceives, hence the name of the song is Deceiver. The entire song is the shedding of the ego to awaken in the glory of the soul. It is my own interpretation. This is artistic excellence. Thank You Soen.
Man, this band isn’t new. That’s Martin “fckn” Lopez former Opeth. Cognitive came out when people were whining about the next Tool record being delayed again and again. Steve Di Giorgio was in the band in the beginning. Glad to see they’re still killing it as of Today.
