How do you match charger with "Li-on batterys series" like 13 S or others ? Let say a 48V 2OA 13S Li-on batterys will work with any charger 54,6V 2A Li-on batterys will work ? Or we have to match the series also whith the charger ? And how do you do make shure is the good charger for the battery ?
Considering that hub costs as much as a used car, it better be amazing. Ur not wrong though, a thru axle rolhoff with gates belt is something of a a dream
I have 2 bikes that I bought used, the 48V batteries are only charging to 49V. Could this be some form of battery protection preventing 100% charging? I had thought about building a 52V battery but only using a 48V charger 90% of the time to prolong battery life, but these are inexpensive bikes and I haven't heard of any manufacturers doing this They use a 3 pin xlr type charger which states it delivers 54.6V at 2A. Without the 3rd pin connected I see the voltage output of the charger cycle through voltages from 2v up to about 44.5V and back down again. I'll need to measure the voltage with the all pins connected with jumpers or from beyond the charger connection to determine why the batteries are only charging to 49V. It seems strange that both charger/batteries are doing it, but one should be careful making assumptions when diagnosing a problem.

The 'lockout' is exactly why everyone else is using a Sabvoton or a Fardriver. U really think people are gonna buy this controller for a higher price to deal with stupid issues. If I buy a Bugatti it better be 'unlocked' lmao! What a waste. 🗑 🚮
My e-bike 13S battery use to charge up to 54.6v. However it now will only charge up to 53.0v. I assume some of the battery cells are out of balance. Is there an easy way to rebalance my battery cells to regain the lost voltage capacity? What would happen if i left my battery plugged into the charger (2A, 54.6v) for longer than 7 hours. Would it rebalance the cells to achieve close to the maximum v capacity (54.6v)?
Wish there was a comparison function on the website that showed the differences side by side of the base and premium models. Looks like base is only available in size medium and color blue. Premium is sold out. An explanation (video) of why some options are worth the additional cost would help a customer decide if they should pay for the upgrade.

As someone who's visited hvac factories for some of the largest hvac manufacturers in the world, It is very similar. from the testing, r&d, software development, to the in house custom parts department like 3d printing. Then my mind was blown when the CEO said the word of the year. I'd love to see their financials.. Not only that he see's the big picture of future technology and is strategically positioning for it. Anyone here willing to share what they know about the best controller upgrade, based on the best E-Bike for your money in the market right now for only 1100.00 It's only weakness is a 750 Watt Hub Motor, but you get a 30 AMP battery and the brand has several good reviews of it on RU-vid, so it's not crap, but I'm torn between getting this model which might not have enough power, VS having to spend almost 400.00 more to get a 35 AMP model but with a 2000 Watt motor for , less than 1400.00, but it's biggest weakness is that, they're based out of China with no local storefront for easier assistance if something mechanical breaks down.
I bought this device.. then struggled to get the tiny cables connected.. didnt know how to set it up.. it doesnt show up in the phaserunner suit. it just says connected but nothing is changable.. I now sell it for 200 bugs .
Ravi, very smooth and sympathic presentation.. BUT few nonseses: CANbus communication canot be established over XLR3 presented, you need at least XLR4 pins.. Also the DC 2.1 can easily handle 4Amp charging (speking of 42V) and most chargers we handle are with that current.
Hi, I enjoyed your lecture to this simple but hard to understand CC CV "phenomenon", as I was trained as a water engineer and the two of them don't get on together well. Perhaps some more explanation would be helpful. I am expecting this week to receive my CC CV 60V 5A battery charger and I wanted to understand a little the meaning of CC CV. Well I started to understand a bit after listening to your video when you explain about it. Those standard DC2.1 connectors you say not to use them for more than 2Ah, and how about the cable, doesn't that need to change as well if I use 4Ah? What do you say?
I have two Rad bikes, in less then 1 year and about 235 miles I have gone through 3 controllers. These controllers are ASI controllers model BAC355 TTL. This problem is not unique to me as FB is full of disgruntled consumers whose RAD controllers are failing. Not all that great of a product I'd say!!
The problem with the original manufacturer (ASI) locking stuff down to where only the Systems integrator (Grin tech in this case) can help, is that when the SI can't / won't help, you're screwed. I have a Phaserunner (similar to BAC855 I think), with a grin supplied motor / wheel build on a common 52v (14s) battery. I kept getting IPOC (instantaneous phase over current) faults on the controller, only during regen braking, and only under certain circumstances. Grin ultimately couldn't help, and two years later I'm left with a bandaid fix of massively limiting regen phase amps to compensate. Even with this bandaid fix, to this day, when regen switches from sensorless to sensored control I'll sometimes get what feels like a loss of phase timing and the motor will start to growl. At least it doesn't trigger IPOC and require a power cycle though. To be fair, I'm not blaming ASI, as the PR is a Grin product. But when the systems integrator can't help you, the end user should have access to the tools to investigate further. To me, this is part of right to repair. If you've gone through channels, and still have no resolution, you should have the tools available to try yourself. This 'security' through 'lockdown' rings very much of apple. And to be fair, that's NOT a compliment.
Fardriver is cheaper more powerful less expensive and basically android..ASI is apples little brother with tons of restrictions and high price..no thanks!!.
I have an ASI BAC2000 brand new controller, when I connect it to my CYC BAC app through a Bluetooth connection to upload .xml local file after it connected, I can see the an error message such as: "Error write to controller(22), The operation has timed out." I do not know why do I get this error message for this quality controllers. However, I send multiple email to ASI team for any help as the manufacturer of this controller but they replied that they can do nothing for this issue and just want to get rid of us!
What about if my ebike originally came with a 2 amp charger and to get a bit faster charging, I use a 3 amp charger. I think that should still be okay.
What grade oil is it? Do you have any viscosity specifications etc. Or iso / din / sae numbers etc. Anything I can use to identify a generic grade equivalent. I am due now for my first 500 km service and i refuse to buy anything more from kindernay. The VII hub has been an absolute nightmare for me. Continuous hydraulic oil leaks from the hoses. Oil leaks from the bleed screws. Oil leaks from the shift actuator. Warranty claims for shift actuators and fittings. Still more oil leaks. Get this, kindernay are aware of a manufacturing fault from the taiwanese hose fitting supplier they use. And yet then sent me warranty fittings to replace the faulty ones with the exact same fault they were meant to replace. WTF. The kindernay chain tensioner (which is a taiwanese re-brand aswell BTW) wore excessively in only a few hundred kms. The brass bushings have effectively disintegrated causing excessive leaning in the arm. And kindernay have been far less than helpful through all this. Often times not replying to emails. Sending out faulty parts when they do send parts. The original 7 x cage bolts were loose out of the box too. Causing the entire hub to fall out of the cage when I first got it. To anyone reading this that's on the fence about buying one. Don't. Absolute waste of time and money.
I want to try this hub on my Titus frame ebike, after tearing two derailiurs off my bike in the back country. A bit expensive but so aren't replacing derailleurs and bottom brackets, broken spokes etc.
