Welcome to my Channel. My name is Christina. I started this channel many years ago to share my love for crafting. Here you will find tutorials on creating crafts from a variety of materials, integrating the latest tools and equipment into the creation process, and making attractive items for yourself or to give to others. Like most of you I craft in my spare time, but enjoying showing the community how to craft through my hands-on programs at my local public library where I also work.
I have never stamped with a background stamp on acetate. Great idea! Another tip for heat embossing on acetate is to rinse both sides of the acetate with water first. You can either do it under running water, or use a spray bottle. Dry that, then add a generous amount of anti-static powder - again, on both sides - before stamping with the embossing ink & sprinkling on your embossing powder. I got that tip from Jennifer McGuire (I think), & it really does help cut down on embossing powder sticking everywhere on the acetate (where there is no ink, that is). Also, with the alcohol inks, you can use 91% isopropyl alcohol in place of the blending solution, if you want to save some money. That won't work with the alloys or alcohol pearls, though, so for those you'd need the blending solution. I'm not sure if the isopropyl alcohol would work with the mixatives, but it could be worth a try. Anyway, thank you for sharing these techniques. I'll have to keep them in mind to try. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)
Wow!! Now please tell me when you’re coming to do this to my craft room ❤❤❤ Love your suggestions, I’m officially a subscriber to your channel. Thanks for the content
Christina, thank you for a great Flosstube! I don't have more than two WIPs at any given time, but after seeing the Emily Call Halloween charts, I am going to start them.
I have never stitched on anything other than aida. Just curious, what type of holder/stand etc. do you use. Also, is the linen fabric easy on the eyes to stitch on. Since I had lasik surgery over 20 years ago, working on projects like this are harder. I usually end up using a reader type glasses since my distance vision was corrected and working on things up close, the project/patterns tend to blur some. l
Hi Marilyn, I used to use a frame, but now I stitch in hand. I find it a little easier on my hands. I always used Aida cloth, too, but tried linen and fell in love. I started with 28-count Laguna fabric and switched to 32-count linen quickly after I started. The stitches are smaller, and I use a magnifying lamp to see them. I hope that helps. Happy Crafting.
Thanks for your video and giving some good advice and ideas, your craft room looks amazing, I’ve only just come across your channel but I will be looking a lot more for more inspiration. Take care and thanks again for sharing your video.❤
First off, as far as voiceover vs. "live" video, whichever is easier for you works for me. You do a great job with both formats, without hemming/hawing or rambling on & going off on tangents. :) You can even do a mix of both - some videos voiceover, the rest the other way. As I said, whichever way is easier for you. :) I love how your card came out. It would be especially great for a tween/teenager, I think. Spooky, but not gory. I really love the little cat in the window with that haunted house die! I have done Halloween cards to donate to Send a Smile 4 Kids in the past, basically cute or a bit "grungier" for older kids. This year I'm just not feeling it, though, so I'm doing more Fall--looking cards with various themes (e.g. birthday, hello, etc.). Some I'll send to SAS4Kids, and others I'll donate to Scrapbook.com's Creative Kindness card charity. I got a 6x8" Fall-themed patterned paper pad, & I've been using that for these cards. I'm determined to "kill" it this year, and not have scraps left over that I "have" to store for next year and/or beyond! LOL Anyway, thank you for sharing your playtime. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)
I cannot find the 3x3x2 thick acrylic containers on your Amazon storefront. The ones in this video that you have your pops of color displayed. Am I just missing them???
Christina, I have just found your site and love how you go about explaining and showing how you go about techniques/card making. You are an excellent teacher. Thank you.
I’ve loved all your organization videos. I’ve purchased many items you’ve recommended and I’ve been thrilled with each item. Thanks for sharing. I love your space! 🤩
Hello from sunny Arizona! 😎 I’m always looking for better organization in my card making studio to make the process easier….I’m considering several of your ideas and will use your links when I make a final decision. Thank you for this content…..you have given me some ideas to make my crafting easier. 😎
I’m starting to get tired of everybody doing these kinds of videos … these great fines on Amazon… Fill in the blank …to just get people to click on their Amazon links so that they get paid from Amazon!!!! Does anybody ever actually do crafting videos where they’re actually making things… I miss the days when you could go on RU-vid and watch a crafting video and not be bombarded with click my link for this. Click my link for that. !!!!!
Why do you click on these videos if they bore you? RU-vid algorithm obviously thinks you’re interested because you click on it so they keep showing up in your feed. Some people find these videos very helpful. I am one of them.
@@triciakaplan5201 no the video was not recommended to me. I subscribed to this person. Which is my point I actually didn’t watch the video because I’m sick of these kinds of videos. if you don’t like my comment on a public video… From somebody who is creating Contant for the public that’s fine… I don’t need you to agree with me… But my opinion is valid just like your opinion is valid. So you don’t need to come at me or try to attack me or try to shame me for my opinion. You can move on.!!!! Just as I did… I didn’t watch the video. I left a comment which is my right to do on a public video… As somebody who supports this person and subscribes to them.
@@celiagraungaard1253 I do NOT sell for another company. Sorry you missed that announcement!!!! Try and get your facts straight before you try being shady and nasty.
I had to smile at your love/hate relationship with Glossy Accents comment, mainly in light of the Tim Holtz stencil you used. I have a love/hate relationship is with his stencils. I love the designs, but I hate that the width of the pattern part isn't enough to cover a 4-1/4" wide panel. Most of them at least seem to be more in the 3+/-" range, which I've never understood. I always seem to be left wanting more. LOL Sigh! Anyway, I love how your stenciling came out. That "rough" edge along the top is perfect! Great card design overall, too. Thank you for sharing. Take care, happy early anniversary, & have a fantastic day! :)
Beautiful card, Christina! When I saw the inside sentiment after you first stamped it, I thought, uh-oh, because I could see you hadn't finished it. So I'm glad you caught that before sending it off. :) Anyway, I love the color scheme you used. I would never have thought of pairing light grey with gold, but it works. Great job on the bow, too. Thank you for sharing your project & process. Take care, & have a fantastic day! :)
