...my first time hearing the power as he builds to full unleashed emotion - no holds barred... was a breathtaking experience considering the risk he was taking with, as you said, a "Classic".
Another Brit here who liked this song so much that I bought the album ( had to be ordered specially) and still have it today - and a deck to play it on, too.
I am shocked that the British public isn’t more thankful to their military personnel. You all deserve it. Here in America we learned a hard lesson when our men came home from Vietnam and were treated abominably. It isn’t like that now. God Bless America and her ally The UK.
If you ever get a chance to visit a Magaritaville you've gotta go. It's a blast and family-friendly too. There's a giant blender next to the ceiling, and periodically a 'hurricane' blows in to fill it. It's just a hoot, so much fun and great food too!
Yes... this man came here to Nashville and brought a new vision. Then came Jelly Roll ! Reality and Humanity are meeting here in my town of Nashville Tennessee! I am 76 yrs old and I am Rejoicing in the growth our music"s vision of humanity. !
This is our song. My husband walked into a bar in college walked straight up to me and asked me to dance. 45 years later, 43 years married and two adult boys.
So sad to hear of Jimmy Buffett's recent passing. He was a great singer-songwriter, musician & actor. His songs had such a laid back island feel to them. I had a couple of his albums. He had a lot of hits especially in the 70's-80's such as "Son Of Son Of A Sailor", "Come Monday", "Fins", “He Went To Paris”, “Cheeseburger In Paradise”, “One Particular Harbor”, “Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes”, "A Pirate Looks At Forty", “Volcano”, “Boat Drinks”, “Pencil Thin Mustache” etc.
This was one of my 4 daughters' graduation song.......and she danced and danced literally. And she gave faith more than a fighting chance. She's married with 3 beautiful daughters......and they dance
His voice is so amazing and Linda....what can you say? She defined the 70s and early 80s. Started buying her albums around 1971 and kept on buying them. Saw her twice live and she was awesome.
Jimmy is a great favorite of mine. I am a devoted parrothed. He had many great tunes. If you want the more serious side check out He Went to Paris and Cowboy in the Jungle.. Too many to name.
Not sure if it’s where the idea for the song title comes from, but the first US Navy ship sank by the Germans in World War II was a destroyer named USS Reuben James. It was before Pearl Harbor, escorting a supply convoy to England, and almost made the US declare was on Germany a year earlier.
At the end of the "It's 5 o'clock Somewhere" song, Jimmy Buffett asks Alan Jackson if he's been to Margaritaville and then says to him "I've seen your boat there". 😄 And yes, please react to Come Monday. The best version is the video where Jimmy Buffett tells a bit of history of what you will be seeing in the video. Here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XKGw_hrlaOY.html
