This is good advice but as someone who is not only a safety officer, but also is engaged by law firms all over Australia to do investigations (WHS) there is a very important part of this industry and I will say it bluntly safety cannot be your first job. One of my employees was in the army and then in the mines. The other was an employment law lawyer. If you come to me with no real background in any industry I will not even look at your resume, the reason is because you will be a useless shirt filler to me. Now don't get me wrong dodgy companies that are just trying to tick a box because they had a bad court case will just want a useless shirt filler with a cert IV. But if you are going into a reputable truck company, you'd better know how to drive every type of truck at that company. No operations manager is going to listen to anything you say about a driver's performance if they can reverse a semi trailer and you can't. If you're going to go to a building company and you don't even have a white card yet, no one is going to listen to you. So if you genuinely want to make it a career and you don't want a shirt filling job until something else comes along, think about an industry that you like and go and work there for a year or two until you get your qualifications. For instance I worked at Kennards hire while I was doing my certificate four and that taught me everything I would ever need to know about machinery, hire equipment and so on. I spent my 20s between working and the emergency services and driving trucks. My point is if I go to a building site and I can walk the walk and talk the talk and you go to a building site with brand new hi-vis on and you have to stop and ask every 5 minutes what a tool is or what a builder is doing you're getting fired and I'm getting your job. By sacrificing a year doing an entry-level job in an industry you'll probably keep developing in that safety officer role in that industry for years if not decades. And don't forget, once you've got enough experience you can go into consulting or working as an investigator for a law firm wear your salary goes a lot higher. Great video just thought I'd give some advice on how you can get further in the industry because I get calls all the time at my company for people who have just finished a course and they have no experience in anything that want a job.
Good point mate definitely in any construction, Marine, mining, or logistics job you need to know what you’re talking about. I’m doing my tickets as a young person to continue growing in my industry (marine) before moving into safety a bit later into my working career, although I’m very interested in safety and can’t wait to have a career in whs.

You need to be here first in Australia as Permanent Residence to start a cleaning business. Rather then looking for subcontractors, it's better that you start yourself as a subcontractor working for big cleaning companies. Once you are here, best way to get cleaning contracts that whereever you see a Lease sign in front of any Office building, you approch their managers and ask them if they need cleaners to get their building clean, and tell them what you are capable of . Most probably they will give you a contract of their new office building.
