Horowitz just gave 2 AI’s $50000 worth of BTC and now it’s created a memecoin with a market cap of over 350M. What a strange rabbit hole I’ve fallen into.
You accidentally (?) "snuck in" (the "hidden" assumption) that consciousness implies "thinking and feeling LIKE US". (This comment does not at all reveal my stance on any of the subjects touched upon here). Very awesome video BTW! Thank you for making and sharing it!
Can I ask what you studied in college or do full-time to get into this? For example do you work as an academic philosopher or PHD student in the daytime? Just wanted to know what are some ways I can learn and engage with this kind of material formally cause I'm really interested. Also, do you think that excerpt from Mark Fisher "Ghosts of My Life" 2014 is still accurate today? Even now in 2024, are we still unable to "form new memories", still stuck in the nostalgia of the past, re-generating repetitive and parodic derivations? Or do you think there are glimpses/examples of where we've pushed past that "nostalgia loop" in the culture? By the way, love your content. Please upload more! =)
I'm not suggesting Bergman was a party, but I think we can see why letters were never answered and invitations to Faro never sent. "So I hear you like to masturbate! All the time!" "Let me tell you why Fanny is a horrible movie..."
Capitalism is an egregore, he started to grow into technoartificial god in 1500 with philosophy of capital market, stoping it from mind feeding makes it go into vampiric starvation, or bringing other outer god to combat it, either way it does not exist outside capital oriented mind.
Seems like capitalization of consciousness which would mean the buying and selling of souls to be of some use to technology. Would they be commodified and set in the seat of machines or would they fuel them? Would they be fed to the machines? I know I'm not selling my real estate if that's the case. I'll be the lord of my domain. Funny a guy name land is into territorializing. Who is running this simulation? I tip my cap.
@@01InFlames10 How you know? The film was shot in Mexico, a country with a high native population...maybe someone stubbed his toe on a table during filming.
What in the world does this guy Lars know about cinema and art. He specializes in degradation and perversion. No compassion, sensitivity. Just bitterness and a desire to tear down even as he goes into Bergmans home.
"Of the current crop of younger film-makers, the Swedish legend [...] reserves his most fulsome praise for Danish maverick Lars Von Trier who, Bergman said, "does not understand what a genius he is.""
I can’t tell if this video is pro or anti-hyperstition. Or if it’s just talking about hyperstition. It seems like the entire idea is just manipulation with extra steps so that the person doing the manipulating does it have to accept that they’re doing anything wrong. Edit: Man I forgot how wild 2020 was. I’m at the sex robot part now and I can’t help but think how that whole thing stopped on a dime when some scientists went on record saying how they can produce sperm in a lab no problem. Kind of seems malicious in retrospect. I think it was promoted heavily by Musk which we learned later on has a weird hatred of women to the point he had his whatever they were go though IVF so they he could guarantee he only had boys

Imperial power proves we have not surpassed beyond Thrasymachus' statements in Plato's Republic (i.e., justice is "nothing other than the advantage of the stronger"). Geopolitics focuses on accumulating resources of economic interest and advantage. Technology merely serves the elite sector of society as a means of producing profit and retaining power for oppressive purposes used to accumulate further capital. As Chomsky notes, profit comes before people. Looking to declassified CIA documents (e.g., Operation Condor, Operation Praying Mantis, Operation Ajax, Operation Cyclone, Operation IA Feature, etc.), we can see how power is often implemented for the purposes of maintaining control so as to ensure the subordination of foreign nation states. The Congo, as you mentioned, is an excellent example. You can't have smartphones without the harvesting of coltan, after all. Cheap child labor from China also ensure profits can be pulled from "exploited" (in the Marxist sense) people. The reason why the US has a long history of installing dictators across the world is because it ensures a puppet-state is established, which allows the US to control that nation any way they wish. This is done through brutal forms of overt control (again, look to Operation Condor). Covert control is also implemented, of course, through the mass media (again, as Chomsky notes), enslaving mankind ideologically to the dominant social ideals, which, again, serve an elite sector of society. Perhaps the reason "e/acc" is so popular is because it essentially gives the system (which is run by elites) what it wants. It acts merely as a propagandized form of covert control, which, again, serves the interests of "the stronger," as Thrasymachus stated. Meanwhile, threats of nuclear annihilation or environmental disaster (through climate change (which has only been accelerated by capitalistic elites' needs to exploit areas for their natural resources)) are seldom discussed. There is more to say on the issue, but I don't want to write an essay in the comment's section. Let's just say that Neoliberal goals of decentralization and deregulation coincide with many accelerationist themes (Milton Friedman's economic policies during the Reagan-era strike most in my mind). Nick Srnicek, of course, would disagree with this on the grounds that, since the current system we have now is fundamentally a highly ORGANized structure, it does not embrace true accelerationist forms of deterritorialization. Still, deregulation allows labor unions and workers' rights to be removed since it does not allow the human security system (in Landian terms) to ORGANize, which, again, assists elites in accumulating more profit off of people by allowing worker exploitation to be more easily implemented. I understand Land's concerns of ORGANized structures leading to "fascist" systems that prevent one from a state of becoming (i.e., keeping one fixed, instead, to an assimilatory state of being, which does not allow the chance for change or escape to the Outside), but understanding how political/corporate power operates proves all the more important in an age of ignorance, disinformation, and counter-intelligence programming. Basically, some level of ORGANization will be necessary for people to escape from out such an oppressive system of enslavement and servitude. People should be deORGANized only as much as their social institutions are. In truth, no one can know the Kantian noumenon. As such... yeah, "e/acc" is full of shit and is most likely functioning subconsciously and unknowingly as yet another corporate-backed PSYOP that aids imperial ambitions and the elite sector of society. With that said (even though this was posted 5 months ago), it's good to see you back to making videos again. Take care and best blessings! ^_^
It's kind of crazy finding this video now as opposed to when it was made 5 years ago. I think the 'capitalism is AI' thing would have made no sense to me when this video was originally made, but now seeing the events of the past couple years it seems almost obvious that Land is correct. The complete failure of AI to do much of anything yet still see mass adoption and huge investments, it's nonsensical except if that AI is the end goal regardless of how unprofitable it is.
Straight coked out of his head rambling about nonsense. Of course he doesn't want to get into the details of Cultural Marxism, Classical Marxism, or the Frankfort School. Cultural Marxism is in no way a conspiracy theory. The specific details of its origin is irrelevant in relation to the ideology itself and the destructive impact it's having on social. "The devil is in the details" as they say. Rather than just make attempts to dismiss the claims, why not defend your position based on the merits and specifics of the issue. Americans will NEVER allow Marxism, Socialism, Fascism, or Communism to be fully implemented in this country. We value our liberty and believe in self-governance enough to sacrifice WHATEVER is necessary before we surrender our sovereignty.
Great video! The only correction I'd like to make is about God's "will" that you talk about later in the video. God is a "free cause" (Book 1, Prop. 17), BUT this freedom isn't of the will (Book 1, Prop. 16). God's freedom is entirely separate from the will. His freedom comes by necessity of his existence rather than from the will. This is hard to conceive because it's entirely different than how we typically conceive of freedom and willing
