How poignant when he's joking about losing weight , so he won't die so he can see the future developments. Tempting the "simulation" with thoughts/talk of death is not a good plan .
Particularly enjoy the part , where Mike talks about, talking about the upside of ideas , and allow a certain amount of naivety. Rather than just constant fault finding.
What a sad, sad, sad loss. I had not heard of him before but listening to this interview in full stimulated my mind. He was obviously a highly intellectual and gifted human being. His daughter looked as if she would follow in his footsteps. The world is one less genius. May he rest in peace.
What's the value in frustrating competitors? Are they even your competitors in an infinite game? Isn't there at least a chance that they become partners one day? Why not make them shine then, if you're an infinite player? A better title for this video might have been: The infinite player focuses on their customers and the next 50+ years.
I've never known a grade A employee go into HR or recruiting. The grade Z people who typically work in HR and recruiting don't have the first clue of how to spot grade A ability. It's wishful thinking to imagine that you'll be able to get grade A people onboard when the HR/recruitment people aren't recognising their resumes and inviting them to interview in the first place.
That's business my dad did it all the time worn by endless discussion difference speaking, hearing and listening when the listener can't hear nor listen silence to think and ponder
5:30 You won't beat the competition on best product or lowest price, you'll beat them on moments of truth (any & every point of contact with the customer). 7:50 Hire people who get a kick out of serving people, then give them the skills and the training to do it. 8:12 Policies should be guidelines. You want to let people use their brains instead of inflexible rules and policies.
"The worst it's ever been" Dude wants to be a sophisticated academic but has no substance to actually add to the same shit every pretend intellectual says. Things are not worse than ever. Shan Gillis had it way better. What things are worse than ever because we are tweeting at each other?
