I have a degree in classical guitar but stopped playing and practicing seriously since I graduated from the conservatory in 2017. On the 2nd of July, 2020, I decided to commit into practicing again at least 1 hour every day but transitioning to jazz, blues, and contemporary. Almost everything you'll see here in my channel is my journey to be a better musician. I can say that it's somewhat like a video journal for my progress, but the main reason why I'm posting my videos here on youtube is so everyone can see that with enough dedication and perseverance, a progress will always be a progress no matter how big or small it will be, and that hard work can beat talent. (not that it's a competition 😅)
A tutorial with tabs on screen would be absolutely amazing. It doesn’t have to have all the embellishments but just the chord shapes something to think about
Hi! Yes I have been always thinking about that because I must admit you’re not the only one who has suggested the same thing 😅 Hopefully someday, I will have more time to edit my videos and put tabs in it. For now, my apologies but this is the best that I can do and I hope it still managed to help you 😅🙇♂️🍻
This is awesome! You're really talented. If you dont mind (and if you still remember) could you tell me the pattern of the opening of the song? Thank you!
435 is a half step down from 440 making all strings flat.... E-flat-A-flat-D-flat-G-flat-B-flat-E-flat...or D#-G#-C#-F#-A#-D# if you prefer. Sharps to flats.
Hi. Sorry but I respectfully disagree 😅 that’s not the case for this one as 435 will be not enough to be half step down. I think that would be around 415 (i just googled it, but not entirely sure) So if I tune my guitar back to 440 and just start playing my chords a semitone lower (half step down) It would be too much and will sound worse. Even if I maintain a 440 and start tuning to Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb, it would also be too much. But of course this is just my opinion 😅 If you think that you can just do a half step down or just make the chords a semitone lower, and it sounds better for you, you do you, man 👍🍻
Hi, thanks for the heads up, but I’m not really sure which one are you talking about 😅 are you saying the Ebm (ii) should be major? Or Should we do Ab (V) instead of doing Ebm (ii) throughout the song? For me though, I think Ebm (ii) still works fine, but if you think staying on Ab (V) is better, you do you, man 👍😀🍻
On the entry to the tune try this: C-7 D-7 EbMaj7 C7/E (no Root with a 9th) to Fsus13. F7 is the 5 chord. The 5 chord almost always leads you back to 1, which in this case is a BbMaj7 chord.
Thank you for this one, sir! 😅 I tried it and yours was definitely right and more accurate! Honestly, there’s no way I’ll be able to hear those chords on the current level I’m in right now 😅
Whoa. Ang aggressive naman po ng way ng pag criticize nyo 😅 if shaming someone who simply keeps trying is your way of ecouragement, sure I’ll take it po 🙇♂️ I’ll keep trying to be better. But please do keep in mind po na hindi ako nagyayabang 😅 in fact, alam ko po na sobrang olats ako sa gitara and sa overall capabilities ko as a musician, I don’t even share my videos to any of my friends or to any social media platforms except here in youtube, kasi nahihiya din talaga ako sa skills ko 😅 I’ll keep trying to be better po! 🙇♂️
Thank you so much! Although I don’t think that’s going to be anytime soon or if it’s even possible for me at all 😅 But thank you still for your support! ❤️🙇♂️
Dayumm, what a mad man. Keep the streak going dude! Your journey was so impressive, I can't hold my hand to write this comment lol even tough I'm not that type of person but it just that impressive xD will take your dedication as my fuel to start learning again! Cheers!
Hey man, thank you so much! ❤️ really, cooments like yours are the ones that keeps me sane 😅 I will definitely keep it going and I’m very glad I was able to inspire you! Good luck! 😃🍻
Hi! Thank you so much for you kind words 😅🙇♂️❤️ Honestly, I find my set up still basic 😅 I mainly use ableton lite with the Neural DSP Cory Wong plug in, in clean, turned off the compressor and reverb turned on. I mainly use analogs for pedals and I think for this one, I was using here a boss DD7 delay, and boss overdrive and distortion. I’m not sure if this is detailed enough as I admit I’m not very technical with these stuff and it still confuses me A LOT 😅
@@christevenvalenzuela4061 Haha... that's actually exactly what I wanted to know. I also have a very simple Ableton setup for both my guitars and keyboards, along with a dedicated pedal board with some basic effects. Your clean tone is the sound I'm after as I'm not really into high gains or even overly distorted sounds. Prefer something warmer and more jazzy. That said, the sound on my Strat is a bit too thin. Just ordered a Tele with hum buckers so we'll see how those sound. Thanks for the reply and info!!
Hi! Not sure really where to start, but mostly, I practice scales, arpeggios, and probably any song that I’ve been practicing lately for enhancing my techniques 😅😀
my friend what you have done here is absoloutly incredible. for more than 3 YEARS you have consistently been posting your progress. not only does that help you stay consistent but it can easily show you what habits you've been building and how you got better. let me say this in simple words "THIS IS JOURNEY REPRESENTATION". this is what movies are about. WITH this youtube channel you can show that. no ACTULLY YOU PROVE that practice really is what you need to play as beuitifully as you've done today. you've proven that consistency and HARD WORK and MASSIVE EFFORTS is taken to become as good as you are. and lastly let me finish with this you've come a long way my man i've seen the other videos and my god i love that you can prove to the world how it's not complicated to become a good guitarists its just about practice. I would love if you could post a video on how to improvise how you approached, what you originally wanted with improvasition how one can practice improvisation what worked for you and what didn't. because im aspiring to become good at improvisation and i would love to be able to play like you one day. and thx to your previous videos i know i can if i practice as hard as you do. sorry if this doesn't make sense i just never thought i would find someone like you so im fully gassed right now
Wow hey man, thank you so much for your kindest words. Really, comments like yours helps me a lot to keep going. I still have a very long way to go, but at this point, the only thing I think about is to move forward, especially when I get comments like yours. Seriously man, thank you so much 🙇♂️ I hope I can post a video about your questions soon! But tbh, I still doubt myself too much for me to start giving some tips about improvisation 😅 so maybe someday 🤞 Again man, thank you so much! Cheers! 🍻🍻
