Hi! Welcome to Process with Pat. I’m a passionate process engineer with industry experience in operational, service, design, and commissioning environments. This is where I share my practical experience and know-how. I want you to leave my channel more knowledgeable, confident, motivated and, most importantly, curious.

The goal is for you to leave thinking, “Oh! That’s why…”

Let’s Learn Together.
This is the place to come for perspective and to ask stupid questions. I am not perfect! I do not claim to be an expert and I continue to learn daily. I have made, and will continue to make mistakes. Point them out and let’s share the
knowledge.

Greater Than The Sum Of Our Parts.
Use what you learn here to make small, but continuous improvements. It’s easy to feel hopeless trying to solve global problems. Your job is not to solve the world’s problems - sort out your own plant and our combined efforts will turn into something huge.

Okay, great. But what will happen to the shut-off head in case you increase the suction pressure? For example, if there is a pump with a suction pressure of 0.2 bar and a discharge pressure of 9.5 bar, and the shut-off head is 10 bar, what will happen to the pump shut-off head when you increase the suction pressure to 1.5 bar? Will it increase or remain constant?

AC is just a heat transfer system using some substance that can boil inside (absorb heat) just above boiling point of water and condense outside (give up heat). No such thing as cold only less heat. Heat always moves from hot to less hot

You mentioned that water flows from a high pressure location to a low pressure location. A hose connected to a pump that is going down hill would have higher pressure due to head gain at the nozzle compared to at the pump outlet, but the water still flows down hill. Can you explain what's going on in that situation?

@5:50 you say the pump would give 0 pressure when there's no load. Can you clarify which pressure you're talking about? I assume you mean 0 (ie. atmospheric) static pressure? There would still be dynamic pressure due to the kinetic energy of the moving water?

Good lecture. Wet bulb temp, as I was taught, can never be greater than the dry bulb. Or at least the dew point can never greater than the ambient temperature.

This is perfect. I have a garden pepper which has a wonderful flavor. Vodka will remove the flavor from the fiber of the plant. Hopefully; This method will remove the vodka, for the most part, and I can add that flavor to my recipes. Plus storage will be easier throughout the year. If all goes well and without any " Murphy''s Rule ", in an ice cube form. Thank you for your video and explanation.

Great video.. So here is a question. Using variable speed centrifugal pumps for swimming pools. When the pump is above the pool level (suction lift no gravity feed) sometimes pumps loose prime. Will installing smaller diameter pipes increase pressure to the pump head preventing loss of prime. So 50mm pipes to pump head 63mm discharge?
